  • Well made, quality parts, works fairly well
This "flybold Smokeless Bonfire | Stainless Steel Camping Fire Pit | 19.5 Inch Large Fire Pits for Outside Patio Outdoor Smoker Campfire | Solo Portable Camping Stove Backyard Fireplace Firepit Stand" works well; its a good size for a medium sized camp fire or as a firepit in your backyard. It performs fairly well in terms of minimizing the smoke and containing the flame. It is pretty easy to clean up too after it is cooled completely as it is not too heavy, so one person can easily just carry it, flip it over and dump out any ashes. The material seems to be of good quality, and the whole unit feels pretty sturdy. So far I don't have any rusting issue, but I really haven't had the unit too long, so I may come back and update this review if I do experience any rusting. Overall the price is fair for what it is and for its quality and performance. A friend of mine has the name brand "solo stove" Bonfire 2.0 that is very similar to this, even though that is $80 more, I do think that I may want to consider that instead of this one; but if you do want to save that money, this one works almost as good, but it is not a name brand. Thank you for reading this review, I hoped that this review is helpful to you in support of your purchase decision. ... show more

  • My first smokeless fire pit so not really a pro yet, but this one does work and is smokeless
Our last fire pit was one of those decorative bowl kind of things you can buy at the big box stores. So this one was a new experience. First of all, the sales text says it comes with some kind of screw to adjust something and a manual. It comes with neither. I can't even find a hole for a screw. Just the stove itself, pretty much 4 pieces and a nice mesh bag to hold it in. I guess to carry it around when you need to AFTER it is cool. So, I went on the web to find some videos on how to use the stove, and while I did not find this one in particular, I did find enough information to piece it together and get going. First of all, the pictures in the sales text are when it is compacted. You DO NOT use it in that way like it shows in the pictures with the fake flame. It will not work that way. You have to take out one of the cylinders, turn it upside down and put it on top of the outermost cylinder. Then you have a chimney where air can be pulled from the bottom and exit near the top. Then drop the tray down with all the holes in it. The holes are a little big I think, so pellets (which we can't really buy here) might fall through. The distance from the hole tray to the secondary burn holes on top is about 11" inches. The inside diameter of the fire pit is 17.5" inches. And when put together it is 15.5" inches tall from bottom to top. Now, I put the stove on three bricks before using to provide more airflow underneath. Plus I didn't want to risk catching the grass on fire. So the wood logs that you put in can be 17.5" inches long but make sure you don't stack it over the 11" inches, otherwise smoke will come out the top. It did burn well and after about 30-40 minutes, there was a secondary burn and it became smoke free. The whole unit became very hot, so like an old stove, don't let anyone touch it. Aside from the bigger holes in the insert, the only way to clean this thing is to empty it by turning the bottom part upside down. I mean, you have to take it apart to compactly stoy it anyway, but it is a little messy cleaning it. Oh, it and it will never look as nice again, the metal stained and discolored from use. But it does work, once you get it all together. I took off one star for the misleading sales text, no manual at all (which it really should have to show how to put it together) and the larger holes in the fire basket part. Kind of inconvenient for pellet use, I think. Oh lastly, once you start a fire in it, you really can't move it, the unit becomes too hot. It would have been nice if some handles were supplied or something. ... show more

  • Works as advertised. Strong construction. Smoke was well controlled throughout the night
I purchased this for a family BBQ of about 30 people in my backyard. I live in an urban area just outside of a large city, so I was a little concerned about possible smoke. The neighboring homes are probably within 50 feet of where I planned to have the fire. Although to be fair, there are other fire pits in the community so flames and wood burning smells are not foreign to people here. I built the fire using dry birch purchased at a local box, hardware store. It was very dry wood, that I had stored in an outside shed for at least 2 weeks. I got the fire going quickly using hand split kindling and some simple fire-starting cubes. The fire progressed nicely and in short order I was putting in 10" long pie shaped pieces that were 5" radius. Right from the start, we all noted that there was less smoke than we expected. Nobody had to change their position in the circle or rubbed their eyes. And once the fire was fully involved it burned very clean and again with no smoke. As the hours went by, we eventually used up the wood, this is when I expected smoke. But nothing objectionable really developed. You could see smoke but nothing billowing. I think I may have sold a few of these based on this demonstration. We all appreciated the lack of smoke, but the Stainless-steel fire pit also contained the fire very nicely. Logs didn't roll out of the ring - they stayed close. And the fire was directed upwards so any sparks or popping from sap didn't find its way to our outstretched legs. But, at the same time, the walls of the pit were low enough so that you could enjoy watching the logs burn. While we're talking about burning, I did place the fire pit on 3 small bricks to raise it up off the ground. I think this provides a cleaner path for drawing air. If you stood up and looked down into the pit, you could see jets or nozzles of flames coming off the circular air holes. This is a great design. However, the air charged burner does go through wood quickly. So, this little fire pit meets the descriptions and images on the webpage. The price was very reasonable for the size and dimensions of this pit. We're very happy with what we received. I think I'll be seeing more of these at other family gatherings in the future. ... show more

  • Decent!
This is a decent fire pit. It’s nothing fancy by any means but definitely keeps the smoke down. Assembly was easy once we found another customers review (thank you, said customer!). So only critique is to include directions.
