We placed it up high and found that downward directed heat keeps us warmer than placing it lower to the ground. This electric patio heater definitely heats up very quickly and very warmly. It uses infrared heat so it’s quiet and doesn’t make any noises or blows any hot air. It's toasty in there, even in single digit temps. Its heating tube is about two-thirds of its high, which can warm you up from the feet to the whole body. This product works really well, I like to keep it inside my room and it heats up really fast. Within a minute it turns really hot and it gets hot fast. This heater is amazing, it saves me money on my electric bill since I don’t have to use my house heater anymore.
