Description

how to use it : Tip 1 - You must use this in a drill that has some Power. I tried to use it in a smaller 12v Drill and it maxed out the drill. I have a Kobalt 24v drill that has no problem with it though. Also make sure to use the side handle for your drill, if don't you will probably twist/break your wrist. Also any plug in drill will probably work. Tip 2 - Do Not Drill This Into The Center of Your Log. Drill on the edges of your log, it will split much easier that way and help to prevent the tool getting stuck. Tip 3 - Avoid knots like the plague. It will get stuck if you try to go through a knot. Tip 4 - If you drill on the left side of the log/wood then it will take advantage of the rotation of the drill. If you are drilling on the ground then put your knee or foot against the log to prevent it from spinning, or you can angle it a bit so it rotates into the ground. Best situation you have a table/station that you can use that maybe even has a stop built into it. Tip 5 - Works best to break down already split logs into smaller kindling or smaller logs to fit into a small stove. I don't have a heavy duty hammer drill to test out its operation on larger logs. For what I need it works great.

  • My logs were to big.
My logs were to big.

  • stuck!
First thing I noticed was that 2 of the splitters looked used, and 1 of them had a good amount of rust on it. The shanks screw into the base of the splitters which presents a problem if the splitter gets stuck (2 of them did). reversing the drill causes the shanks to simply unscrew from the splitter leaving the splitter itself stuck in whatever piece of wood you are trying to split. 2 of mine became stuck, and I was only able to free one of them with a large pair of channel locks. My plan for the one that is still stuck is to bring the log into my garage, and weld the shank to the splitter. ... show more

  • Sounds reasonable in theory, doesn't work in practice
Basically this will try to make large holes in wood but never splits it. Maybe if there was already a crack in the wood this would work but none of them did for me. Worse yet, when reversing the drill, the bit just comes out poor despite the gn and cheap materials. Probably made of lead.

  • I call this the wrist breaker don't buy doesn't work
Doesn't work don't waste your money. I've had this about 3 hours and it just does not work. I have a Dewalt 20 V Hammer Drill and this thing just doesn't work even if you don't drill into the center of wood. The tool consistently jams and then when you reverse the tool it unscrews and is left in the wood. I'm sending this back as quickly as I can. Don't waste your time with this. ... show more

  • Keeps getting stuck in wood
Not what i expected, smaller than expected. It keeps getting stuck in the wood. Then when i try to unscrew it the flange is the only thing that comes out. I have to use pliers to remove the device. Not happy.

  • Didn't work AT ALL
Got stuck in first piece of wood. We thought maybe it was too thick, cut wood and got it out. Got stuck in much smaller piece. Did not work, at all. Waste of money.

  • Does not work as described
Guys please save your time and money, and listen to the reviews. These are completely crap and don’t work as the company says they will.

  • Don't waist your money or time
Using old cured wood that splits easily to test these out. The tips snapped off of each of them. Don't waist your time or money.
