I waited a month before writing this review and I'll say I'm still happy with my purchase. I researched a lot of adjustable weights and there is no shortage of them on the market. My criteria was easy set up and not super bulky. These hit the mark . I didn't need each weight to go up to 50lb each weight so I eliminated a ton of the bat. I am not a big person so I really needed something that wouldn't dwarf me as I was doing a variety of exercises and this is perfect for my needs and not huge. The set up was insanely easy and I was really worried about how sturdy they would be and they are great. No major clanging when I pick up they always feel secure whether I'm doing tricep kickbacks or chest presses. Highly recommend these and glad I did a ton of research cause I avoided what were overkill for my needs. ... show more

Giving 5 stars with regards to the lower price point vs similar products. Many comparable products don't shrink down in overall width to the amount of weight being used the way these do, and very few adjust in 2.5 lb increments like these do, which was my reasoning for purchase, along with the chrome finish being very attractive. The handle is comfortable and has a good ergonomic feel to it with a nice rubber grip that isn't tacky or sticky. The weight selection mechanism is smooth and seems to be very reliable with no issues through several uses. I put mine on the pictured shelf because the typical dumbbell stands for these take up nearly as much room on the floor as my old multi-dumbell rack for the hex-heads I got rid of, so an equally large rack for a single set would defeat much of the purpose of buying these, and the shelf allows for extra storage on the ground unlike most of the stands. Also note when considering a stand/rack that these dumbbells have to be on a level surface, or the remaining plates that aren't being used will tip over when the handle is not connected, so be aware that some stands/racks have an inclined surface. There is the issue of the dumbbells sticking to the dumbbell holder when using the full amount of weight, so I zip tied the holders to the wire rack. I also made platforms out of scrap wood to create a solid base to rest on the wire rack to avoid damage. ... show more

    • Wife wanted a more compact adjustable over the Bowflex
I have the 552s and I personally love them, but my wife didn't like them. She wanted the more "traditional" feel of a dumbbell. She didn't like how, regardless the weight of the 552s, they felt awkward to her since they keep the same size throughout the entire scale of weights. So, I went ahead and bought her these Finer Form pair. I wasn't expecting too much from them, but they are quite surprisingly well made. Looks alone, they beat the 552s hands down. The 2.5lb increment of adjustment up to its max weight is a plus for her. I guess only time will tell how well these will hold up, but when it comes to functionality, price, adjustability, and compact footprint these Finer Form dumbbells are a great buy. Definitely a good addition to our home gym. One negative and it is a small one, they are slightly noisy. As in the weight plates clink and clank now and again. But since we can play our own music and at any level we like, the noise these dumbbells make is not enough to remove a star from my initial rating. ... show more

We have been using these about a month now. They have a great size (not as bulky as other brands for the same weight). So far reliability has been good. The best thing about them though is the 12 adjustments. These give you so much more control over how much you lift than most adjustable sets because you can adjust the weight up and down in 2.5 pound increments. ... show more

    • There are only 6 weight divisions. Not 12.
These adjustable dumbbells are very nice. However, the 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 pound options don't exist, even though the crank can be set to those weights. The actual useable divisions are the ones with the .5 on them. That's the 7.5, 12.5, 17.5, 22.5, 27.5 and 32.5. In fact, if you dial in the non .5 divisions, it creates a dangerous condition in which the bar that holds the weights to the dumbbell does not completely secure the plates. The bar barely extends into that plate. These dumbbells work superbly when you stick to the weights with the point fives. I'm happy with the situation since I can work around the problem and just use the 6 divisions. Just beware of this issue. Even the instructions say there's 12 divisions, but it's simply not true. Besides, how can there be 12 weight divisions when there's only 6 plates per side? There can only be 6 divisions. I still want to reiterate that it's a good working, solid product that I won't be returning. ... show more

Love these! It takes a little bit longer to set the dumbbells down just right to switch weight, and getting the direction right to get to the weight you want, but still worth it. These are so sturdy and easy to use. I've do a lot of floor exercises and the hold up my weight just fine and are actually stable despite the round shape. I love the 2.5 lbs increments. I've been able to slowly increase weight without sacrificing form. Very happy with these dumbbells! ... show more
