  • Better than any other RO palm sander I’ve ever used.
I was initially on the fence about buying this sander with its seemingly exorbitant price tag, but it truly is better than any other random orbital sander I’ve ever used. Excellent power, ergonomic, leaves an extremely smooth finish, does not fatigue your hands, and the dust collection is phenomenal. I build cabinets for a living and spend countless hours sanding countertops and doors. This palm sander never gets fatiguing to use and gets wood perfectly smooth. It’s so ergonomic to use it almost seems to glide over the surface you’re sanding. Dust collection is superb when hooked up to a shop vac. The included guard is truly wonderful. It protects your hands and edges of work pieces from getting nicked by the edge of the sandpaper. Such a fantastic tool. For the price, it’s an incredible value. ... show more

  • Amazing sander
This sander is so comfortable to use. Vibration is very minimal. I can use it for hours and never have ‘tingly hands’ like my previous sander. When connected to my dust extractor the dust extraction on this sander is phenomenal. One complaint I have is that the default pad doesn’t hold the 3M Cubitron mesh sand paper well. Festool sells an interface pad and when I use it the 3M mesh paper holds to it very well. Overall, I am glad I paid the money to get this sander. It sands so much better than my previous sander, doesn’t hurt my hands, and does an amazing job with extracting thee sanding dust. ... show more

  • An amazing upgrade from a Ryobi sander
I'm a starting woodworker and have been using a Ryobi orbital sander for years. I saw a review on this Festool sander from 731Woodworks and wanted to research it. I had a large sanding project where I was restoring an old pine pie cabinet and prepping it for paint. This sander is by far one of the best investments I've ever made in a tool and my very first purchase of Festool of any kind. It's super crazy smooth and powerful. The volume was a lot less than the Ryobi and the biggest thing was that the fatigue from holding it went down to almost nothing. I didn't have to turn it off at any point in the job to take a break so I could feel my hand again from the vibration of the tool. I have a lot of Ryobi hand tools, mostly because I'm a beginner and needed to save money, so staying with them seemed the natural thing to do especially since it was cordless. However, I don't mind the tradeoff of this corded Festool at all now that I've used it. It's got a very long cord and I don't feel I'm getting tangled up in it. I literally through the Ryobi sander I had in the garbage after 1 day of using this. Drop the mic and roll the credits... Boom! ... show more

  • Game changer
We finally upgraded our sander and bought this. It is worth the price tag! My hand doesn't feel numb for hours after doing a big project. It is fast and efficient. Minimal dust is left behind. You can tell it is built with quality. It's lightweight, and easy to maneuver. We'll be recommending this sander to our friends! ... show more

  • Low vibration, great dust collection
My old ROS broke and I was torn between this sander and a similar one from Mirka, but I prefer the button on the front to the paddle switch, and I already have the Festool dust extractor. Only used it a couple times so far, but wow, the vibration is way less than I am used to, and the dust collection is so good I can actually use it in the house. It's expensive, but seems worth it to me. ... show more

  • Festool, say no more
Great sander, much less vibration than my yellow one

  • Great sander, don’t use cheap paper
This is my first Festool tool, obviously they’re all super expensive so this is a step into the low end. This is a well built tool, it has superior dust collection even without the vacuum they offer. The issue people may have is using cheap sandpaper. DO NOT buy an expensive tool and get a pack of 100 sandpaper for $5. Festool designed the tools to be optimized with their own paper, that optimizes dust collection, which optimizes performance. I know it sucks investing in more expensive papers but if you’re investing in these tools, make them perform the best by getting the good paper. ... show more
