  • Only use logic to put this together....the instructions are TERRIBLE
Style: Ferret Tower Two-Story Ferret Cage
This doesn't take an entire day to put together - maybe about an hour at the longest. We put ours together in a bit longer than that just because the parts did not easily match the "instructions" and I use the word instructions loosely. When you are putting the plastic slides that hold the cage together (vertical black plastic pieces for the corners that support the cage,) make sure you disregard what the instructions show. You should be putting them on with logic and they should slip right on. If you put them on the wrong way, 1. they won't easily go on, and 2. they will not make a rectangle shape, it'll be very wrong. The little black corner pieces that go on the bottom corners snap in, but make sure you aren't using the ones that go for the second floor on the base. If you do that, they WILL FIT but the others will not fit on the second story. On the plus side, the cage is really big and our ferrets seem to really like it. We only have 2 in it now (getting another boy tomorrow,) and I could see 5-6 living in it comfortably providing the carpet sharks are allowed cage free time. We ordered a ferret building, so it won't be an issue. We will just use the cage for food, drinking, and sleeping. Cage will be open 24/7 otherwise unless I need to shut them in to clean. For those complaining about poop in the non-litter box corners, make sure you cover all floor space with blankets and put a litter box on both levels. I've never had ferrets poop on blankets, so should be pretty effective (and I've had a lot of ferrets in my life with a rescue when I was younger). Happy Ferreting! ... show more

  • This is the biggest cage ever!
Style: Ferret Tower Two-Story Ferret Cage
First of all I purchased this for my daughter's rats. She has several and the cages she had them in were old and too small. Ok, I am very handy and regularly put things together and build things but this cage had the worst "instructions" ever. It was a couple of pages of pictures to go with the multiple bags of stuff to put together. Once I started unpacking things and doing a few steps it went together very easy. Once it was assembled it did feel sturdy and was huge! So plan on clearing out a lot of space for this cage and put it together in the room you are going to use it in...it is too big to go through the door after assembled :) ... show more

  • A pain to put together but pretty worth it
Style: Ferret Tower Two-Story Ferret Cage
I just got 2 new ferrets and decided to go with this cage instead of the usual ferret nation cages because I like the pan bins, makes bathroom cleaning easier instead of possibly having to scrape poop off of bars. I have to say I mostly enjoy the structure. It feels much bigger in person once put together and the fact it has wheels is great. The ferrets already enjoy the tunnels and the hammocks as well as some extras I tossed in there personally that didn't come with the package(I tossed a towel into there for them to hide and burrow under and they're sleeping their little heads away). While putting it together, there's normally a concern for missing pieces but we actually had extra's which is comforting in case something breaks by accident when it needs to be taken apart for a deep clean. HOWEVER, my dissatisfaction and annoyance comes with the putting it together process. The instructions have no words, just pictures you're supposed to follow. I know for some that's all you need but I'm a words girl, I need to be told which piece I'm using to set the bars for which layer and a little more detail. In the package, it came with some extra slips even stating they had a video to help teach you how to put the cage together on their official ferplast website, which I found out they didn't, at least not one that I could find. Actually putting it together is a P R O C E S S. You're definitely going to want a friend or someone to help you put this together, it took roughly 3 hours for me and my mother to put this together (but we were also trying to put it together and balance work so I would say with plenty of free time 2 hours max). Also, make sure to double-check the width of your door V.S. the width of the cage, found out the hard way it wasn't just gonna roll in like I had hoped (failure on my part but beware). The water bottle that comes with the cage looks nice but found that mine leaks/drips even if left alone to just sit there which I don't just want pooling in the cage. One of the ladders that come with this as well came bent. It still functions fine, but since it doesn't rest correctly against the floor it's a cause for concern for me personally. All in all, this is a decent purchase, the size is worth it. It's comforting to know my ferrets have plenty of space to share with one another. Just know that you're gonna need at least one maybe even two extra pairs of hands to put this together and plenty of free time to get it done in a decent amount of time. ... show more

  • HARD TO BUILD && LOUD.
Style: Ferret Tower Two-Story Ferret Cage
Overall this is a very nice cage! It took me forever to build, the directions didn't have any words on it what so ever, && didn't tell you where to put any of the small parts. The small prices are easy to break, I dropped one of the poles && one of the small black pieces broke off inside of it, it was an easy fix but a pain that it even happened. The tunnel is very loud whenever my ferret goes up && Down it, for sure would but some type of padding for the tunnel or block it off at night. In the end, my ferret seems happy with the cage so far. Once you get past the building it's an enjoyable cage && worth the extra money. ... show more

  • Not suitable for Ferrets
Style: Ferret Tower Two-Story Ferret Cage
Well, for starters, the building process is excruciating, the plastic nails are easily broken, there’s no instructions on the actual material besides the paper, which makes it difficult to understand where things goes. Secondly, the shelf’s and tunnel CANNOT hold the ferrets WEIGHT, as they keep trying to go up and down the tunnel, the stairs don’t work for them, they can’t use it as they slide down because of the material, the shelf’s are made for extremely THIN THIN THIN animals, as they bend from the weight of my ferrets and they fall from it. Third, the gates to open the cage are extremely small, it is terrible to clean as you cannot get your arm inside to clean, as any ferret or any animal owners we know how important it is to keep it clean and neat, the cage would be perfect it the shelf’s where stronger and the tunnels, and if the gate was way bigger that we could go in and clean properly, is it a great cage, but the most important part is not good at all. ... show more
