I originally got a wine kit which came with a racking cane but upon further thought decided upon getting a siphon because it looked easier to use and would be less of a hassle. I was correct in my assumption. Easy to put together, just slide what I would call the male piece into the female one and you are ready to go. Sanitizing it is a must but it's easy as 1 2 3. I am using it for a gallon at a time and it's a perfect size for it. The clip is convenient and works perfectly. Once you start the pumping action your liquid perfectly begins the siphon. It does most all the work for you, maybe needing to pump a few more times at the end. I would recommend it. I will edit later with a video when I use it again. ... show more

I have had several siphons that did not come apart and they were very difficult to get started! This one starts very fast and is easy to clean! I highly recommend this!

Use this for making homemade wine in small 1gal glass jugs and it is a lifesaver. Easy to use, easy to clean. The included hose is nice and flexible, but doesn't kink easily. The included clip holds the siphon about 1/2 inch above the bottom of the jug, allowing the sediment to be left behind.

I bought this to replace my old manual siphon, and it was a total game changer. I have used this on 4 separate brews and it worked amazingly. I did swap out the hose with one with a clamp to make the process even easier.

This siphon was exactly what I needed to rack my home made mead. The tip helped to transfer the mead to bottles with minimal disruption if the lees that settled at the bottom of my carboy. easy to use and easy to clean. 5 stars.
