All parts are made of food-grade materials, including silicone, stainless steel, and copper.
  • Rapid Cooling: The distillery kit adopts an open cooling method. The copper coil has rapid thermal conductivity and has a large contact area with the coolant, providing a lower distillation temperature. A circulating water pump is attached to save cooling water. The rubber pad under the condenser can insulate and accelerate cooling.
  • Easy to Operate: The alcohol still kit has a real-time thermometer on the lid, with a dual-display of Celsius and Fahrenheit, which is convenient for monitoring the temperature of the wine during the distillation process. Works great for what I am using it for! Easy assembly (don't count on instruction with item) if you watch a few videos. I find the thumper works best if set off to the side. Pot is light weight so I put a baking pan between the pot and the heat just so maybe it helps the life of the pot before it starts to get any holes in it. I plan to upgrade the thermometer just because it seems to stick around 190. I may find out it is fine. If so I just have an extra. If you plan on using this a lot you will eventually need to invest in more thread tape and possibly the rubber seals. All in all worth the money for a beginner. Highly recommend. ... show more

My husband has wanted one of these forever and is very happy with his gift. He hasn't tried it yet but is looking forward to using it. I got the 5 gal because I want it to fit on our stove. The bigger ones are quite large. Per my research, there is a bit of a learning curve so I also bought him some how-to books. I have had a friend who used this model to distill home made corn liquor, shame on him, tee, hee, it was good. In an emergency situation you can make a lot of distilled water in a short time. The condenser bucket is a little small, so you use the included pump to cool it down and try to keep a supply of cool water. For actually water distillation that is not too important. The media could not be loaded. Product worked as described. I can now produce my own fuel for my bikes without buying it. It's not an expensive distiller so keep that in mind. It will do the job and safely. Everything was there and simple instructions.

I bought the kit during a sale and saved about $30. The kit was delivered with no water pump even though it was in the description. Found the company on their website and did a chat. Took a bit to get a response, but they basically said "your 30 day window ain't up, you should return it we dont have any water pumps." What a waaaaaaste of resources to ship it back and then buy it again for the non sale price just to hopefully get a water pump. Or just buy one and forgo the sale price. I think I am talking myself into just returning this thing and never dealing with the company again. Either way I will never buy their crap again. The thing looks like its going to work but will be real fussy with the seals and such. All of the materials are not good quality, but will last me for a while if I keep it since I am careful with things. Probably will have to buy new fittings and seals and tubes to do more than a half dozen runs, so its a good starter set if one isn't sure as long as you can deal with low quality all around for a time. ... show more

Company advertised 9.6 Gallon and has sent a smaller unit twice. This is a gift so i am keeping this one only because I do not have time to return again. Other than that, this is a nice well-built distiller for the price!
