Description

Falco Ergonomic Hand Pruner with 1-inch Cutting Capacity 8.25in An ergonomic re-design of the original Falco 2 pruner. This pruner is the same as the Falco 7, but without the rotating lower handle. Light alloy handles are shaped to act as an extension of the forearm. The anvil blade handle is designed to prevent the pruner from sliding through the hand. Hollow-ground, the Swiss precision, hardened steel blade features a wire- cutting notch. The blades are set on dowel pins for easy maintenance and replacement. The Felco ergonomic hand pruner sports a strong anvil blade and is an ideal choice for light day-to-day pruning. Users will benefit from the pruner's lightweight construction and handle design that resists slipping. Easy to use, the pruner tackles tasks such as cutting back an overgrown hydrangea or removing a sickly pansy patch with minimal stress on user hands and wrists. The pruner's anvil blades are crafted with hardened Swiss carbon steel blades that offer frictionless slicing and resist rust. With a fine blade adjustment and a wire cutting notch, the blades easily cut through branches, stems, and wires up to 1-inch in diameter. The light metal handles are forged for durability and pivot on tough, replaceable pins rather standard rivets. A cushioned stop keeps the blades from opening unexpectedly or overly wide. The pruner measures 8-1/2 inches long and weighs only 8.7-ounces, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

  • These are the apogee of pruners. Buy it for life, great construction and replacement parts.
Size: F 8 Style: Pruner
After having bought a new pair of pruners every year, these are the pair I’ll keep for the rest of my life. Pro: + comfortable + great leverage + SHARP + Steel is tough enough to take a nice edge, but not so hard it's brittle. Easy to sharpen. + Replaceable parts. This is a buy it for life pair of pruners. Every part can be purchased from felco for a reasonable price, I'll never throw these away. + Incredibly well made. + I now have a pair of the pruners my old world grandfather had, but didn't leave me in the will. Con: - This particular model isn't for hands smaller than mine - my friends are tired of me asking them if they've seen my "new" pruners. - I got carried away and over-pruned my bushes. ... show more

  • Best quality, great ergonomics
Size: F 8 Style: Pruner
This pruner made my job easier, very comfortable, easy to clean, makes clean and precise cuts with little effort. I had been using it a lot in a cocoa plantation, it has more than 1000 cuts and it continues cutting like the first day. I am very happy with my pruner.

  • Sturdy and sharp pruners
Size: F 8 Style: Pruner
This is my favorite pruner; I have used this style for several years and needed a new pair. They are sharp and sturdy to use and will cut the thinnest and the sturdiest stems in the garden.

  • Best Pruners
Size: F 8 Style: Pruner
I love these! They are the best pruners for serious gardening. The blade and spring can be easily replaced when worn extending the life dramatically. Very comfortable grip for long sessions of pruning.

  • Like a Hot Knife Through Butter
Size: F 8 Style: Pruner
Smooth, consistent, perfect cuts every time. Easy to resharpen. I use Felco's pump spray lube to keep this and my 322's tip top. This purchase was an upgrade after I wore out my Fiskars and it was absolutely worth the investment. I was torn between these and the #2's but after reading the reviews I opted to go this route and they fit my hand perfectly (I'm a righty and wear women's M or L garden gloves). ... show more

  • F-8 very nice. Best for larger hands. Tried an F-6 too.
Size: F 8 Style: Pruner
This Felco F-8 is an excellent bypass pruner. It is a little heavy and a holster (Felco F-912 Leather Scabbard Holster with Belt Clip) is a good accessory. However, the F-8 seems best for larger hands. I have short hands/fingers, and so I also tried a Felco F-6 (Felco F-6 Classic Pruner For Smaller Hands), which is the same pruner made for smaller hands. Frankly, the F-6 was not much of an improvement for me, so I stuck with the F-8. The F-6 has a significantly smaller cutting capacity compared to the F-8, although the difference might not matter for ordinary flower gardening. F-6 specs: Length 7 1/4 inches, Weight 7.5 ounces. Recommended cutting capacity is 0.8 inches. F-8 specs: Length 8 1/4 inches, Weight 8.7 ounces. Recommended cutting capacity is 1.0 inches. Sharpening this type pruner is easy and requires no dissassembly(see Felco's directions/instructions). Use the Corona Clipper AC 8300 Sharpening Tool. And if you don't keep them sharp (and lightly oiled) they will soon dull and rust and be no better than a much less expensive pruner that is dull and rusted. If you don't think you'll maintain the tool maybe get one of these instead: 1. Corona Clipper BP 3180 1-Inch Capacity Bypass Pruner with Vinyl Coated Steel Handles. I've used this compact pruner in the past and they work fine if maintained. If not maintained, they'll dull and rust too, but they're still less than half the price of the Felco. The quality is nothing like the Felco's, but they're cheap, small and light. 2. Corona Clipper 1-Inch Capacity Bypass Pruner With Vinyl Coated Aluminum Handles BP 6250. I haven't seen these, but they look like a Felco knock-off. They might be the best value for the money regardless of brand. In my opinion, while I haven't used them, for the average gardener the Corona Clipper 1-Inch Capacity Bypass Pruner With Vinyl Coated Aluminum Handles BP 6250 is probably the most sensible choice out of all those listed herein (including the Felco's). Corona is a good brand for most homeowners, and their products are widely available at local stores selling gardening supplies. Honestly the Felco is overkill for most home gardeners. Really for pros. ... show more
