When this arrived, my wife was ecstatic! This is a great, fully functional sewing machine. It's got great features and it's easy to use. Basically, this is a machine with all the necessary tools for the home seamstress. The machine operates with smooth needle action, gentle and quiet. The sewing machine comes with a DVD that provides good instructions. This is a machine that would be great for a beginning seamstress, and I would also recommend taking an introductory class on sewing if you're new to the task. I enjoy testing out sewing machines. I have used the same brand for many years, but now I have had an opportunity to try out some different brands. Feiyue is a new brand to me. I did notice that this brand has several machines out and available on Amazon currently. This one is the FYe330. It seems to be their most basic machine. Basic machines are not something to turn your nose up with. Not everyone wants to do machine embroidery or sew using a lot of fancy stitches. They just want a machine to do mending on or to sew basic garments. Even so, this machine has 25 stitches including a buttonhole stitch. One thing I did appreciate was when I opened the machine out of the box, there was a piece of fabric showing multiple stitches that had been done on the machine as it was attached to the machine still with the bobbin thread from the bobbin in the bobbin holder. I set up this machine. The only problem I had initially was threading the needle. This is a problem I have with about all sewing machines, not just this one. I am tall with a long waistline, which means I can't hardly see into the needle area. I had to literally tilt the machine to about a 45 degree angle to see to run the thread through the lower threading path. I couldn't use the needle threader as I ran out of hands with tilting the machine, holdinng the thread, etc. But I was easily able to hand thread the needle. I have tried to test several other very inexpensive machines that I couldn't even get them to sew a straight stitch. With this machine I was able to try out the utility stitches. I did not adjust the present tension on the machine. In some cases I probably should have. I have not yet tried out the decorative stitches, buttonhole sitches, etc. I wanted to be sure than the machine could actually sew. I will be trying more things on the machine as I want see what else it can do. I have found that the more basic a machine, the more important it is to get to know your machine. Such as with this machine, you only adjust the speed of the sewing with the foot pedal. During the time I was working with it I still hadn't gotten used to adjusting my sewing speed. I was getting tired and needed a nap so I quit for the day. Most of my machines can always tell when I am too tired or not feeling well as then the machine starts acting up. So I decided I needed to stop for the day. As this is a very basic machine with a fairly low price point, you are exchanging a lower cost to taking more time to get to know the machine. How to set the stitches, how to control the speed, how to use the hand wheel, etc. If you are willing to spend the time, you should be able to do what you need to do with this sewing machine. My very first sewing machine had 5 stitches if I remember correctly including the straight stitch. But oh did I yearn for a sewing machine with lots of decorative stithes and then when they came out, a sewing machine that did machine embroidery. And with those items you will find the price going up. Be forewarned though, I have yet to find a sewing machine that dispenses chocolate! This machine will allow you to learn or practive sewing. It does have a free arm. It has extra bobbins, a supply of different presser feet that are the basics that most sewing machines include for making those basic stitches. This is my first ever sewing machine so others might have a different opinion but I find the machine rather complicated to use. There are included instructions but I have a hard to time following. I'm struggling just to set up the machine for use. I suppose I will need to take some sewing classes to get a basic on how the machine works first. I'll update if I make more progress. ... show more

This sewing machine was very easy to set up and has been perfect for my niece who is just learning how to sew. It comes with practice fabric, a dust cover, handbook and product instruction video. It was easy to thread and is fairly quiet when running. The machine itself is well built and feels sturdy, there is some weight to it and it doesn’t feel like cheap plastic. There are a variety of stitching options which make this perfect for so many projects. Even though this is an easy machine for beginners it is also a solid machine for seasoned sewers as well.
