The FEIYUE FY505 Serger Overlock Machine is a heavy-duty machine built on a metal frame which should help it to have a long life of service. When I first used it, I used yellow, red, green and blue thread in their respective thread paths. The treading path is well marked, and it is helpful to watch the video as it helps with threading. The cutting blade makes a clean smooth cut. It is capable of sewing very fast with up to 1,100 stitches per minute. I did have a very hard time removing the table and putting it back on, but I finally mastered it. I think it's important to be able to remove it for cleaning out the thread and lint fuzz. ... show more

I had to sit down with the instructions before I started using this overlock sewing machine because I'm a total newbie to overlock machines. I've used sewing machines for years, so maybe I had a bit of a head start than someone who hasn't ever sewn? I'm thrilled I can finally sew stretchy fabric. I do recommend reading the instructions and trying test stitches on the included fabric before you get started. The media could not be loaded. This FEIYUE overlocker comes with a detachable spreader for thread saving 2 thread stitches, a lint brush, spare 90/14 domestic machine needles, tweezers, muslin test fabric scraps, and instructions. Of course they included the power cord, foot pedal and dust cover as well. You would only need to purchase sewing machine oil, thread cones and fabrics to stitch separately. I first like to get familiar with the machine's threading and cleaning before I ever plug it in to stitch. When I feel 100% comfortable with threading and cleaning, I follow the instruction manual to test various stitches on the included scrap fabrics. This machine feels sturdy. No automatic needle threading here, it's all manual, but that saves me some money on special features I don't absolutely need. I use an LED magnifying mirror and reading glasses along with the tweezers to help me thread the needles. I love that the threading is color coded and that the diagram for threading is printed right on the machine for quick reference. I am excited to be able to stitch stretchy fabrics again! ... show more

Very well built, fairly straightforward as far as learning to use the machine, but definitely easier than I thought it would be to get used to! Extremely versatile, solid build, great product!
