You get 2-2lb handles and 16-1lb plates, totaling 20lbs. 4 of the latter are end plates with the Vendor's name. The items are well-packed (see photo). The plates fit together like a jar lid with an added sliding locking tab. The photo labelled "LOCKING TABS" show the end plate (bottom), flip side of the end plate and all other plates (upper right), and the other side of the remaining plates (upper left). Notice that the tabs of one plate slide under the tabs of the preceding plate (a 45 degree turn to a click), and that the first set of tabs at the handle has to support ALL the attached plates. Given the size (about 1") and thinness of the tabs, I wouldn't exceed 5lbs per handle side by adding more plates. I suspect a high risk of snapping off the tabs at the handle. Especially when moving the dumbbell will multiply the force on those tabs. I think this design might also lessen durability. Other than that, this item has high utility and versatility. By pushing the appropriate tab, you can release one to four plates at a time, making weight changes quick and easy. This set offers a pair of dumbbells, each adjustable from 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10lbs. Grip is good - the dumbbells don't slide in the hand even when I soaked my hands with water. I was thinking 3 stars because of the safety/durability concerns. But, if used as packaged - i.e., a max of 10lbs per dumbbell, I decided that concern might be exaggerated. Just be sure to check before each use that all the plates are securely fastened. Therefore, four stars.

These dumbbells are smooth with the functionality of the swapping on/off of the weight. There could be a complaint with there are two functions necessary to alter the amount of weight of the dumbbells, but that is a small gripe with the huge convenience associated with the weight changing. The the light blue coloring is attractive to the eye and it does not forego comfort to get the look. The grip on the handles are comfortable and seem to compress a bit to stick to your hand. Now, the "stick" part is not a genuine stick as the item is easy to be released without any residual feel on your hand. Performing any workouts with these dumbbells is as easy as they can be, and the sizing on the weight does not run the risk of impacting your head with any awkward shapes. Super convenient for the look and feel of the dumbbells. The switch mechanism is simple and easy to figure out. These come with instructions that are about 3-pages that are sparsely filled and it covers how easy it is for adding and removing the weight. These allow you to stack them out pretty far, which is not the best for going beyond the 10-pounds each one is largely set for, but it becomes a bit odd with the further they stick out from the handle. Overall, these things are pretty killer for anyone looking to keep their weights on the lower side (not above 10-lbs) and keeping things in a tight storage area. Great purchase.
