  • Now thats what I'm talking about
Update September 2023. the saw has officially broken. Im sick of fixing it. Was a fun experiment Professional arborist. Ive never owned at 200t but I use a Stihl 201 every day. This saw was low revving of the box but a small adjustment to the carb fixed that. Im using 40:1 trufuel and its pretty smokey but it rips. Came with two sets of dogs, one stupid big, dangerous set and a normal set. Also came with a scrench, star tool and small flathead for carb. All in all its reminiscent of most stuff from china these days- fair quality but no manual or any support in the US Having this saw is a great addition to my arsenal, as having a backup climbing saw other than my Echo 251t - which is more expensive than this thing- is important. Im just going to flat out give this saw 5 stars and update this review in 6 months. The reviews on products like this are very important and having some followup will be helpful I think. So stay tuned! I will climb strictly with with this saw for 6 months and update. I will only use engineered fuel like vp, stihl readymix or trufuel. I wouldnt ever expect it to be a good idea to run ethanol-laced fuel in this saw. (2 Week Update) Ive gone ahead and opened up the exhaust and dialed in the carb. The saw is broken in and runs very well. So far, I'm still very happy ... show more

  • Wish I would have bought a Stihl... Hands down.
This is a saw nobody should purchase! Total junk... Does not oil, the triggers on the handle does not work to shut off saw/start up, the clutch is super load and churps, the carburator cannot seemed to be tuneable saw bogs down and dies. Plastic side cover does not line up correctly. All of this from the first week I had purchased the saw... Wish I would have just bought a Stihl.... BTW I work for a professional tree service. • So far so good
I've only ran it for about 10 minutes so far but it started right up. I put it side by side with my 200T and can't find any differences. It comes with a couple of extra parts but no instructions so that's a bit of a problem but nothing crazy. It seems solidly built. After reading reviews for all of these different saw models, I went through and tightened up everything before I started it. The star scrench that came with it is to big to fit any of the star bolts, so quality control is pretty poor where ever that was made. I took the star scrench from my Stihl weedeater and it worked fine on all the bolts. 9/12/19 Update- Have run 2-3 tanks of gas through it and it definitely doesn't have the same power as my 200t, with the new chain it can't pull it through when it really bites in. Also the oiler quit working. I first blew it all off to make sure the port wasn't clogged, then sealed off the oil reservoir and put a compressor in there to try and force any clog out. Ended up pulling the oiler off and cleaning it with carb cleaner, it was gummed up with what looked like the old gun packing oil, really thick. Not sure why it was that way but got it cleaned out and it's working again, only about 5 minutes run time on the saw since the repair so we shall see... ... show more

  • Starting and running issues
Around 3 months into running this saw. And I’m already having trouble starting it and keeping it running. About 10 pulls for a cold start and it cuts off by itself once brake is applied.

  • Saw has paid for itself.
I do tree work for a living, so far I have topped out 4 trees and am currently 2/3 through a large oak cutting in a bucket truck. The only thing that has broken is a clutch spring which I ordered a pack of 10 for $10.You will probably have to adjust the carburetor some, but you have to do that anyway when the seasons change. I am going to order another saw to have on hand. ... show more

  • Awesome MS-200T Replacement
Ever since the emissions regulations started coming down the pipe modern chainsaws have felt so much more sluggish with just disappointing top end performance. And with the stop of production of the STIHL MS-200T many arborists are constantly hunting eBay and anywhere else where they could possibly find one. They pay top dollar for beat to crap saws. This saw provides an excellent alternative, I’ll be honest it need an hour or two of medium to light use before it is broken in but it is just a little screamer. I do also recommend finding a stihl factory set of bucking spikes to install as the ones that come on this saw are extremely over sized and only get in the way. Over all I love this saw! Completely recommend! ... show more

  • Impressive little saw
A G111 chainsaw, I’ve heard nothing but good reviews, however I got mine and it was missing an oil filler cap one of the dogs was bent, and the handle was broke through. Granted I ordered a used saw, but I expected it to be in better shape. After cleaning it up and modifying the muffler and replacing some parts, this Farmer Tec saw has thoroughly impressed me. ... show more

  • Not good quality control
I ordered one and it came with a bad clutch. I tried to cut a 3 inch branch and chain stopped every time it touched the wood. saw got very hot on the outside of clutch area. I returned it and ordered a 2nd saw. this one cut great but when I put it down I noticed a puddle of oil under the saw. After inspection no oil was getting to the chain. I tried running the saw with the bar and side cover off, the clutch spun off and went down the driveway. I got it back on and tried to start the saw again when the gas cap blew apart into several pieces. I don't think I'm willing to give it a 3rd try. I've been in the tree service for 20 plus years ... show more
