I got this to try stainless steel. I've recently been using the expandable hoses, but the elastic seems to give out relatively quickly and I'm tired of buying hoses. This is my first stainless steel hose and I don't think it'll be my last (I need one for my back yard). Pros: *Stainless steel. I was skeptical about a steel hose because I thought it'd be either too unwieldy or heavy to make a good hose, especially one that's a decent length, but I was wrong. This seems to be the best material for hoses. *Durable. The box guarantees durability and I believe it. Unlike my expandable hoses, I can't see anything outside puncturing the hose from things like rubbing against things while using it, mowing over it, or stretching it to its max. *Kink free. Most hoses advertise as kink free, but this hose truly is. I tried to tie it in a knot, but it wouldn't let me. The steel makes it so the hose can't be pinched enough to restrict the water flow. *Easy storage. I thought this might be a hassle to store because I expected it to be heavy and difficult to coil, but it's arguably more flexible than traditional hoses. As you can see in my picture, I was able to get it into a small coil. It might not be quite as small as expandable hoses, but it's far more durable, and much tighter than compared to my old, traditional hoses which required a caddy. *Extras. The hose came with extra rubber washers and thread tape. I'm not sure if you're supposed to use thread tape with a garden hose, but it's always handy to have, as are the extra washers if the included one falls/wears out. Cons: *None, so far. There were no leaks and I was unable to get it to kink, so it passed both of those tests. Granted, it is winter so it will see much more use during the summer. I plan on keeping it outside during the winter to test how ice resistant it actually is and will update the review accordingly. ... show more

    • This 25 foot stainless steel hose is so easy to handle!
I really hate wrestling with garden hoses - they are heavy and hard to coil back up neatly to store. So I was very interested in trying something different than the standard reinforced rubber hoses we have been using. The brass fittings on this hose are heavy and nice. There were some extra gaskets and some plumbers tape in the box, but I didn't need any of it. I used the hose today to hook up to our utility sink in the garage that has a hose bib with hot and cold water instead of a standard faucet (consider doing this if you are remodeling or building new - it's very handy!) because the dogs needed baths and the outside bibs are only cold water. The 25 foot length was JUST long enough to reach from the sink at the front of the garage out to the driveway. We splashed a bit of water into the garage but not too bad. The fittings screwed on very easily to the hose bib and my spray nozzle. There was no leaking and despite being a bit more narrow than other other hoses, the water pressure was great. I read warnings to wear gloves when handling so you don't pinch skin between the stainless coils, but I had no issues with bare hands. When I was done, I was easily able to coil this hose up, take it outside to shake out all the water, and coil it up again to the same size it arrived and fit it back into it's box. Very compact. I'm sold and will look into buying a 50 foot stainless steel hose like this in the spring. I don't see any that size from DayisTools so I may have to go with another manufacturer, but if they had one, I would not hesitate to order another one. ... show more

    • A promising compromise between the light hoses and the monsters.
DayisTools Stainless Steel 25ft Garden Hose is an experiment in compromise. Across the gardens at our New England home and our Colombian campus apartment, we are one very hose-happy family. In recent years, we’ve gravitated to the fabric-style lightweight hoses that have flooded the market. We like them a lot for easy of us, but we find that they are generally good for just one season before they begin to sprout pin-sized leaks. For heavy work, we find it worthwhile to pay the big bucks for the very rugged monster hoses. But this leaves a wide space in between and we acquired this flexible stainless-steel product to see if it can get us through multiple seasons at our New England home. First impressions are promising. As I write this, Winter is upon us so we won’t know for sure how we assess this hose until beloved Springtime comes to visit. However, I can say from a first inspection that the quality of the materials and the attention to detail are impressive. The hose comes nicely boxed with washers in one bag and sealing tape in another. The hose is only 25’ long, so it doesn’t need to endure the wear and tear that a larger hose expriences as it gets tossed and dragged. I’m assessing this hose at 4 stars, and will amend the review if its promisng features justify a bump-up to five. ... show more
