Here in the desert, we're always fighting with the sun, and nothing probably has a bigger fight than a rubber or hybrid garden hose. My "lifetime warranty" rubber one I bought at that longtime American department store ten years ago landed in the trash this year, mainly because it was too brittle to even get coiled up to fit in the back of my SUV (and it was too hot out to try to wrestle a 50 foot python of brittle rubber into the car). These 25 footers are really great supplements to your regular hose. With the super-extreme heat lately, I've had to do supplemental watering, and this is my #1 go-to to get water right to the source. The connectors are solid and fit perfectly. Decent washer hoses, so no leaks. Caveats: ***Don't run over it with the car - doesn't bounce back as well as rubber. That said, you don't have to work as hard to get it coiled up after using, so maybe consider making a new habit of coiling it up when you're done since it's EASIER now (I know, some of y'all been putting your garden hose away every time for years and congratulations, you're so much more diligent than I am). ***If you need to flood something, you may need a bigger diameter hose. Part of what makes this easy to move/carry/etc. is because it's not running a volume of water through like a fire hose. That's fine for about 99.9% of your tasks. But if you're filling up the swimming pool and want to do it in a hurry, maybe consider a higher volume hose. But this will wash your car, blast aphids off roses, drip-drizzle your plants, hose off your driveway just fine. ... show more

Ever fight your dog for the water hose? try this one- my dog does not enjoy chomping down on it. Every time I pull out a hose when he's around he attempts to 'help' me by grabbing on and starting a game of tug of war. Guess this one just isnt fun. This thing is pretty neat. It does NOT kink. like at all. short of tying it in a knor, even then though you probably wont be able to pull it tight enough to cut off the water flow. ... show more

    • Pretty Impressive
I am new to stainless steel garden hoses. But I am pretty active in doing my yardwork and I take my garden hoses pretty seriously. Previously, I have used the higher quality 5/8" rubber hoses that you find at the big box garden centers. At the listed $25, you can buy a 50' good quality rubber hose (compared to this 25'). So this hose is not cheaply priced. But I have to say that I am pretty impressed with it. The best part is the non kinking aspect. This is absolutely true. I tried to twist it up and get it to kink, but I could not (without intentionally crushing it together). Under normal use, I would say that this will not kink. It also does not get twisted like the rubber hoses. I coil my hoses up into a hose pot and occasionally have to fight the hose to get it untwisted so it lays correctly in my pot. This hose stays loose and untwisted and lays right into the pot every time. Very nice. It also seems to be reasonably crush proof. I stood on the hose on one foot and jumped on it and it did not deform at all. The downsides.. I am not sure what the inner diameter of this hose is (description does not provide), but I would guess that it might be 50-60% of my normal 5/8" hose. This restricts the waterflow somewhat. For me, this is not a problem. There is more than enough flow to water plants and spray off the patio. But if you need a high flowrate application, you might be disappointed. And I am unsure of the quality of the fittings. Everything worked fine for me upon initial use, but I am not sure of the long term durability. With my rubber hoses, if the fitting went bad, I could cut it off and buy a replacement. With this hose, if a fitting goes bad, the hose is done for. Overall, I am pleased with the hose. It meets my needs and I love that it does not kink. We will see about the durability, but I am happy with it for now. ... show more

    • Not Heavy Duty, but Very Nice Quality
This is a nice hose. The hose screws onto the faucet easily. It spins freely without needing to twist the entire hose. Once connected, there were no leaks. As expected, the water flow is not great. It's not very good for watering the lawn. Instead I use it to wash the car. This is perfect for use with my battery operated pressure washer. Other hoses are too heavy and they keep disconnecting. This is the only hose that is light and flexible enough to stay attached. Also, the water flow is high enough for washing a car, or cleaning the porch. As for build quality, it's very good. The hose connectors are not heavy duty, it's made of lighter weight brass, but it's strong enough for the job. The strain relief is very nice. It's made of a thick rubber and does a great job of preventing sharp bends at both ends of the hose. ... show more

    • Perfect for my purpose!
I needed a short 25' hose to use after we travel to drain our water heater so that we don't have to deal with rusty water every time we return from a trip. Our water heater is fine but our city water isn't and when it sits in the water heater it gets gross. We used one of our outdoor rubber style hoses previously but wanted something much more compact to store in the mechanical room, but those compact coil type hoses don't work since this hose is just for draining and needs to lay flat on the ground by the drain. This metal hose is perfect for our needs. It is very lightweight and it easily straightens out to lay flat where we need it. It rolls up very compactly too. ... show more
