    • Nice and light weight!
I needed a hose for draining the hot water tank to flush it. For those who do no know you should flush your hot water tank at least once a year, twice is even better. This helps prevents the build up of gunk in the bottom of the tank/on the heating elements and extends the life of the tank. So I had ordered another hose mistakenly not realizing it is one of the expanding hoses, or a "hybrid". I hate those type of hoses as I have had one explode on me before and it was not fun! I was literally 8 fee up on a ladder cleaning the gutters when it happened, the hose partially blew out/ exploded where the ender attaches to it. My mother thought they were just the best thing since sliced bread LOL. I nearly fell off the ladder so then she did no think they were so great anymore. Our furnace needed to be serviced, you can not get to it without moving the hot water tank, and it was time to do a flush of the tank anyway. So I ordered this metal hose when I discovered the other one was an expanding hose. I like that it is light weight, only 25 feet and I will keep this hose attached to the drain at the bottom of the hot water tank, then I just need to put it out the front door and open the valve when needed. This should last and is the perfect solution for my needs. It has quality standard size brass fittings with the rubber gasket to prevent leaks and it has the rubber/plastic keepers at both ends of the hose to assist to turn to hook up to a faucet/prevent the ends of the hose sagging down and cutting down the water flow.... If I needed longer hose reach I could just get another of these and hook them together. I like they are so light weight and can be coiled pretty small. I was actually shocked how small the box it was packaged in was LOL. I'm good with the value of this VS the price and think it will last longer than some standard/expandable hoses I have had/used in the past.     • Actually is kink/knot free
I have to say I wasn't sure what to expect. I am impressed though. The hose is snag free so it doesn't seem to catch on itself or anything else. It coils and uncoils easily and the construction feels solid. Really impressed and will probably be getting more of these for other uses around my home. The hose is a slightly smaller diameter than a full flow garden hose. This has a couple of benefits and a possible drawback. - The back pressure created by the diameter reduction increases the force the water comes out of the hose with, meaning it does a short jet (6") when it leaves the hose. So you can use this for light washing without an additional nozzle. - The back pressure also expands the hose links and causes the hose to uncoil and untwist itself. This saved me time I didn't realize it would. - The back pressure means the end of the hose wants to move around if it isn't held down. So, if you're wanting to leave it to say.. fill a pool... you may need to secure the end with something so it doesn't flip around or push backward. Gotta say. I do love it.. I find the "quirk" above actually helps me with most tasks. Note: This is the same product as another I reviewed. Hence.. same review. ... show more

First metal hose I’ve owned and I’m sold thus far. Works great, base does need a little tape on my faucet, however survived a deep freeze in AZ and that says something.

    • Great hose, but smaller diameter means less pressure out the other end.
It's a very pretty hose! I like it, in general, but it has a smaller inside diameter than most hoses. If you're use to a 5/8" hose (the normal ones from Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart), this will be a disappointment as far as the water pressure goes. A smaller diameter means less water flowing. It's fall now, so I don't know how well it will hold up being outside in the sun. I'll bet that the metal will hold the heat more if it's out in the sun during summer. That could be a problem too, but not sure yet. If you want an indoor hose, especially at a business, with more of a need for it to be great at rolling up and keeping it looking clean, than this would be for you! The outside metal layer keeps it from bending too tight and kinking. ... show more

    • Lightweight But Sturdy
This hose is nice looking with the stainless steel outer sheath. It doesn't get caught on objects nor does it get kinked or tangled upon itself. It is very lightweight yet sturdy and well made. It appears that it will hold up for years to come as long as it isn't run over by a car tire. One downfall however, is that the id is only 1/2 inch and not the larger 5/8th inch that many of us are used to. Thus, it isn't capable of passing as much water in a given time as the larger bore hose. The brass fittings at both ends is definitely a benefit and will contribute to longevity. This item is as described by the seller. I am very pleased with this item as I believe you will be as well. Therefore, Dr. T. highly recommends this product with the noted exception of the smaller internal diameter. ... show more

Okay, not at all what I had envisioned, this hose is awesome! First off, it's very light weight. Next, it's incredibly easy to wind up, even with the water pressure on. Winds up super small and doesn't kink. Came with teflon tape and 3 extra washers. Love it! Seems to be well made, only time will tell! So far, I'm very impressed! ... show more

    • Heavy, but also heavy duty
This hose is an odd one.. Sheathed in steel segments the whole length, it's a bit heavy and clunky to carry, but also seems super strong and like it's going to last forever. I have a faucet in my pool area and needed a short hose that would be handy to clean the pool filters, etc. The stainless steel construction of this hose will certainly resist any corrosion from the salt water. The end attachments seem equally solid. The hose came with a spare roll of cheap teflon tape. I'm not sure why, as I've never seen anyone use teflon tape when attaching a garden hose, and this one doesn't seem to need it, but I guess there's no harm in including a free gift. ... show more

reminds me of a slinky ! its light weight , good quality and has a nice rebound coil slinky feel . My only concern is going to be a hot summer and this not getting put up properly and the metal being so hot it burns someone
