When the description states "use on low-pile" carpet, they mean little or no pile. I have a low-pile Berber carpet and I cannot get the chair to roll on the mat. Also, it is so pliable that the chair sinks into the mat. I bought this mat because I have lower back issues and needed my chair to roll easily. It is causing more issues.     • Lasted just under a year
About a month ago it started cracking and coming apart under one wheel of my chair. Had to just go throw it out as it effectively 'shattered' around that spot. And it's very hard to unroll, and as I just found out, to reroll to put it in the garbage can, but that's not like something you'll do a lot. Just in case anyone without upper body strength wants to order this it's a wrestling match to handle. Other than that, until the recent integrity failure, it worked well, so I wouldn't give it lower then 2 stars... still figured it would last a few more years. This is on low plie carpet. I'm about 200 lbs and do work in my chair 8-10 hours a day...so it was 'challenged'. :) ... show more

    • Not actually better than carpet, poor quality
I should have checked the reviews more thoroughly. I wonder if maybe they had a manufacturing change as many of the reviewers who share my experience have also purchased more recently. The mat immediately developed divets from the wheels of my chair. When I say immediately, I mean that literally - I received the mat, rolled it out (which was pretty challenging to do), and placed my empty office chair on it overnight. By the next day, there were clear spots where the wheels rested. Over time I've tried rearranging, moving the mat, being mindful of where the wheels are placed... all to no avail. I gave up when someone called out being able to see me 'roll into' a divet during a zoom meeting. Flash forward about 4 months into use and two of the five divets now also have a crack in them that catches things if the wheel isn't over it. Too late to return, but I need to replace it already. ... show more

    • Great for under child's dining booster seat!
We've been using this for under our child's dining chair for over a year, and it's still in as good of shape as the day we bought it. May not be the intended purpose but it works great! Still shows our rug, easy to wipe up toddler messes, and easy to push chair in and out for our daughter. We're so happy with the setup that we recently ordered and started using a second one for under our younger child's highchair :-) ... show more

They nailed it on the size and shape for functionality. I have it on plush pile carpet and my chair has been easily rolling around on it for three days. Perhaps some people have rolling problems due to weight issues. No bad odor. Unrolled and placed easily with two people. All of my previous mats also came rolled so this in not unique to this mat. ... show more

This is much softer than it should be. I have medium to low pile carpet and my chair leaves imprints in this mat easily. It is then hard to roll it. I expected this to be much less flexible.

    • Toughest material ever
Normally I would find the thickness of this type of mat to be a plus. But it took me over a week with weights and heavy items all over it to finally get the thing to lay down. It took three days alone just to get the first fold to open! A serious project just to make it usable. Hopefully it will be worth the effort. ... show more
