The good news is: it was delivered within 24 hrs of order, it looks sturdy, the bottom will keep the mat stable on carpet. Now the bad news: It was packaged ROLLED UP !!!!! It was difficult for this weenie-gal to unroll it [again, it is sturdy!] and keep it unrolled long enough to flatten it. The instuctions (which weren't found until I flattened the delivery box) indicate that it was to be held down with heavy objects for 24 hours before it will stay flat. There is no indication in the online description that the mat won't be delivered in a flat box. Indeed, all of the photos show it as good-to-go upon arrival. First world problem :-) I'd still re-order it if I wear this one out. ... show more

Does the trick. I’m amazed how many people are shocked the plastic is stiff or that once unrolled, it’s soft - I mean, it’s not 1/4” plexiglass. Soft carpet mats like this are designed for very thin carpet like you’d see in an office building because of the high traffic. The softer your carpet and padding then expect a corresponding softness of the chair mat. Unfortunately for me, I need something wider since I use two computers for work and home at the same location and will give this one to my kids to use at their desks. If you live in a cold climate then expect this to take much longer to unroll and flatten. If you’re in a warmer climate then just set it in the sun for about 1-2 minutes and you’re good to go. ... show more
