Pro: satisfied at first. Fan still works. (But fans are $16.00 and mine have lasted years)). 3 levels of breeze with chill feature, timed shut off, low energy usage, and air flow rotation about 90 degrees. Con: already lost chill feature and air flow rotation in less than 4 months of use on one of the 2 I purchased.     • This is NOT an air conditioner, it is an air chiller
I love this machine. It is NOT an air conditioner, it WILL NOT cool all the air in your room, but it does work wonders and cools the direct air blowing onto you when you need it. It really works if you are looking for something to cool the air blowing directly onto you, but again if you are looking for something to cool all the air in a room, this is not the product you need. I’m making a point because I was telling my friends how incredible I found this product and so a friend bought it, and complained that it didn’t cool the room when the sun was shining bright outside and was 90 degrees outside. I just shook my head and had to explain again, that they are not using it correctly and had expectations that couldn’t be fulfilled because their use of the product wasn’t correct. I use all four ice packs, and I turn it on to the second fan level, put it to cool and sleep so well throughout the night. Sometimes it feels too cold during the night but it is so much better to feel cold than too hot. The only complaint I have, is that the controls are too easy to press. My large cat likes playing with the button controls, so sometimes I wake up in the morning and the fan shutters are swinging and it is on high fan, and I know I didn’t set that before I went to sleep. So one night I saw my cat standing up and pressing the buttons and changing the settings. Sigh ... show more

You can use this with or without the “cooling “ feature. Let’s talk about the unit itself first. It takes gallons of water but doesn’t let you know when it’s full until it overflows. It does come with 4 ice packs and takes 2 at a time so one set is always in the freezer. When in cooling mode it is VERY loud. It’s much quieter on the fan mode. To be honest, there is little difference in temperature output between the two. The fan is powerful and has 3 speeds. I think It’s much nicer than a tower fan as it is wider and puts out more wind. Is it worth the money? No. I’d say a fair price is less that $100. ... show more

We use this in conjunction with our AC unit. Keep it full of water and put some ice in the top and it works well. It also adds a bit of humidity to the dry air which is nice. Used it for 3 months now. The con to this unit is it's a pain to take apart and clean, and you should clean it at least twice a month or it stinks. The way you fill it up is slow. Would be nice if you could separate the base from the top for filling and cleaning. All In all it works well and would buy again. ... show more
