  • Updated: Works great all of the sudden! WAS: No Joy.
Color: Olive Green
Updated: After replacing some extruder parts it prints like it supposed to. It probably was worn out extruder gear in combination with overheated bowden tube which was causing failure to feed. Other filaments still worked for some reason but eventually they also failed. There is no way I am leaveing bad review posted knowing it wasnt eSuns product fault. Like I said, 3D printing is hard. Original: 3D printing is hard. There are so many variables, one can never be sure of cause of failure. With eSUN PLA PRO I am out of ideas and throwing in the towel. I did sever attempts at different settings and all prints failed with clog like symptoms. I have changed the nozzle, adjusted bed level hoping Im too close on first layer, changed temperatures from 225 down to 208 in some increments, and heated chamber temp 50C to 35C and to open door ambient, all with no difference. Prints were failing within first hour, mostly about 20 min in. Once I gave up I loaded up a roll of Polymaker PLA Pro and, without touching any settings, I did successful print right on first try ( 208C/60C 50mm/s ). Im not going to say eSUN PLA is no good. But it did not work for me at all while other filaments did My equipment: Ender 3 with swapped in Creality direct extruder Creality tent 300W lamp with thermostat ... show more

  • Quality Filament at a Decent Price
Color: Olive Green
It came well wound and sealed, and prints well at recommended settings on my Ender 3 S1 Plus. I've burned a roll of the stuff over the last couple days and encountered no issues with the filament itself. It seems to even have decent moisture resistance as I left the spool on the holder for quite some time during idles and didn't encounter any moisture popping or weird bubbles on my prints. Color is classic ODG, gods favorite color, and is a decent match for the olive drab found in say some sun bleached old M81 BDUs or a slightly faded ammo can paint job. Finish is matte even on very smooth parts, perfect if you don't like the shiny plastic look. ... show more

  • Good stuff
Color: Olive Green
The media could not be loaded. Good color for military type prints. I printed this Mech, Madcat/Timber Wolf for my son. The supports are still attached. eSUN always prints very well.

  • Great filament!
Color: Olive Green
I have always loved this filament. It prints so well for me. For my machines 215-220 seems to be the right temp. I used the olive to print war-ganizer table top miniature storage boxes. Great military color for war gaming organizers I print at home.

  • Nice filament with nice properties and a couple... challenges.
Color: Olive Green
First off lovely colour, but as other reviewers have pointed out it's a bit challenging to work with. This filament seems to like the plate HOT. 80C got it to stick well on glass. Much lower than that and it needs some PVA glue or hairspray to help adhesion. This high bed temperature also doesn't help any steep overhangs close to the plate, and if a corner gets loose expect some impressive warp. If you can get it to stick, it can produce pretty good dimensional accuracy. It's worked well enough I've ordered a second spool to fiddle with and can see ordering more spools if I can work out the cooling issues close to the plate. If you like the colour and are willing to fiddle with settings to dial it in I can definitely recommend it. If you're looking for an easy olive PLA this might not be the one. Using a mostly stock Ender3 210-230C on the hot end 80C on a glass bed. If you work out good settings, share! EDIT: I seem to have dialed this one in fairly well. Run the first layer at 80C bed temp and drop the temp to 60 for subsequent layers with full part fan on. Nozzle temp at 215C. For anything with remotely low area on the first layer print with a brim. For anything running long it's a good idea to run with brim turned on. Overhangs close to the bed still aren't perfect, but they're pretty decent now. Another Follow up for the Blue colour The olive filament is still fantastic, but I've had nothing but trouble with the blue filament. About the only way I can get it to finish any print larger than a benchy is by printing at PETG temps. Even then print quality leaves a lot to be desired. At recommended printing temperatures I've been running into jamming. diameter seems to be in spec. I suspect contamination with some other plastic since bumping the temperature seems to help. As other reviewers have mentioned, quality is all over the place for eSun's PLA+. ... show more

  • The only filament I use for movie props
Color: Olive Green
I’ve used only this filament to make movie props for a few years now, and it’s excellent. Very durable and lightweight. If you’ve seen Niell Blomkamp’s “Demonic” you’ve seen this material used in a movie.

  • Lays down well with suggested temperatures
Color: Olive Green
On my 3rd spool of this stuff. It lays down well on my ender 3. Make sure your bed is flat. Use the temperatures they list on the spool and on the instruction sheet. The adhesion is no joke. Can be a struggle to get your parts off the bed after it is done. Kapton Tape works wonders for this. Wait until it is cool so you don't bend them trying to pry them up. Clay sculpting spatulas work well for this. Search for "Stainless Steel Spatula Palette Knife". ... show more
