After 6 years in the same house I decided it was time to finally get some curtains for my office. This room has a number of issues we were trying to address with putting up curtains, glaringly bright sun in the afternoon, which can make the room unbearably hot in the summer and difficult to work in from the amount of light, incredible drafts in the winter, and a good deal of light coming in during the evening from streetlights and neighbors. In the past we've been cheap and have hung blankets over the windows, and it was time for an upgrade that would feature our choice in style. These curtains are fairly thick and are decently soft. The stars shine enough that they will reflect the light in the room and can create an eerie glow if you have electronics or night lights that light up the space. I enjoy this feature, but it may not be comforting to everyone. They come with matching bands for tie backs making them easy to pull back when you want to let light in. The ones I ordered were longer than expected, but as they fall all the way to the floor, this has helped with the draft on the cold days we've already had this year, and we've tested the draft protection by cracking the windows open, and these curtains have made an incredible difference. I don't know if they're insulated, but they're definitely cozy. As I currently only have them up on two of four windows in this room, I can't attest to how completely they reduce light, but I do know the difference is quite significant. It doesn't appear that they are full blackout curtains, but by the experimentation we've done I'd say about 80% reduction, perhaps more. They keep out the light at night pretty much completely. We will eventually be pairing these with some sheer curtains to filter the light when we don't want a full darkening effect, but due to my migraines the heavy darkening effect is what we're really going for. These would be great for someone who needs light reduction due to migraines or to sleep during daylight hours as the darkening effect is quite significant, or for a kid's room for someone still taking naps. They are cute, and the stars are quite shiny, so it doesn't exactly have an elegant look, but they're fun and pleasant. My whole family likes them, and they allow me to incorporate a little bit of my gothy flair while still being appealing to my kids. These curtains were overstock when I got them, so they were super cheap, and they're excellent quality for the price! I really like the silver wavy design, and the curtains themselves are thick and pretty soft. They block out light really well, and they reduce the noise levels in my apartment as well (I live on a busy street). I bought 34"x84" panels for my 32"x68" windows. With two panels per window, the fulness looks really nice, and the length is perfect. I would absolutely get these again! ... show more

I cannot believe that I got such nice curtains from Amazon without the hassle of going to the store. I was uncertain if I should get the lighter colored fabric which is white with a touch of gray. But it is very elegant and the silver accents look beautiful with the grommets that are also silver. I really needed them to block out the sun when the expensive dual shades I bought were not enough for the bright morning sun. Even though these are light in color they are wonderful for blocking the sun. Do not hesitate to try these. The hardest part for me was deciding how many sets to get because the directions said if your rod was 72 inches you should get two sets which I did but I’m hanging the first set and realize that I do not need it because there is still enough pleat or ripple in the hanging that I think it looks fine. So that saves me money. I would order these again. The fabric is nice so it . It hangs well . the wrinkles were minor and I’m going to just let it hang out and see if they go away. ... show more

These curtains were not only gorgeous (I got the gray tree branch ones) but they were a nice quality for a great price point— especially as we live in a huge old house with nine foot tall windows and needed to do something! These not only block out light but are helpful to block out the cold and help with keeping the house a bit more efficiently heated. Bonus point for coming with matching window cords, super cute. These are gorgeous curtains!! They are perfect for my child’s room and they make it very dark in their room!! The stars are metallic and the material is soft and somewhat silky feeling. They came with a Velcro tie back when you want to have some light come in the window. Will buy again!!
