Rating: Solid Recommendation My son is learning cello in school, so I picked up an acoustic guitar to learn an instrument alongside him. I should have done more research as the acoustic has a narrow neck and I have large hands with thick fingers. When this arrived I was pleasantly surprised that the neck on this is a little wider, making it easier for me to get my finger placement right while minimizing interfering with other strings. I don't have an amp so I wasn't able to test the electric sound or functions. It arrived wildly out of tune (expected) but with the help of the included tuner I had it in tune and sounding pretty good within about 20 minutes. The included strings aren't premium, but they don't feel unnecessarily cheap, either; they are steel strings instead of nylon. This guitar comes with a replacement set as well. The case is cheap padded nylon bag, but it works and is sufficient for a beginner level guitar. Same goes with the included strap. This guitar is heavy as it's a solid body. If you pick this up for a smaller/younger child they may have some trouble with managing the weight. On the flip side to that, that means it can absorb the inevitable bumbs, drops and scrapes that goes along with a youngin' learning a new instrument. Overall I am very happy with this order and have put many hours plucking away at this guitar while listening in on remote meetings. ~Ratings Guide~ Pass/Skip: Product failed to meet expectations, has major flaws or issues in its design Soft Recommendation: This product meets expectations with exceptions and/or under specific conditions. There's a lot to like about this product. It's a great looking guitar and the pickups and volume and tone knobs work. The neck has a nice feel on the backside and has the warm sounding rosewood fret board. It's got a decent black finish and the bridge seems to be good quality hardware. It comes with everything you would need to get started (except for an amp, which would make this more expensive). The tuner is pretty nice in that it can be used with multiple string instruments. Overall this makes for a great starter guitar. The biggest fault with this is that fret spacing is off on the lower frets, which means that if the open strings are all in tune, certain open chords will sound out of tune (for me it's the D chord). There isn't much that I know of that can done to correct this other than to play bar chords (or leads). This deficiency is pretty significant even for a beginner guitar, but given that 9 out 10 beginner guitars are collecting dust after a couple months, it won't have much of an impact. But if you or your child are a beginner serious about learning, spend a little more for something that is better made in this area. Otherwise, everything else about this is great and if you and your child end up taking it seriously, you could always upgrade later. ... show more

Looks and sounds great. The amplifier could be better but... for a starter amp, it is GREAT. The guitar is beautiful. It is on the heavy side but still very nice and easy to play.
