  • Pleased, Even Though Not Perfect
When it comes to mounting options for 24" monitors, there aren't a lot of options out there in the "affordable and sane" range. This stand falls squarely in that territory, however, especially seeing as it's on sale. The price was great when I purchased it and it can't be beat. The stand itself is extremely heavy-duty. The base weighs a lot more than I expected and everything feels hefty and good quality. I can't foresee this stand falling apart in my lifetime, that's how durable it is. Setup was a cinch, weight aside, and the only tools I needed were included in the box. Speaking of the box, I need to make a brief aside and say, "shame on you, Amazon." The packaging was beyond horrendous. The inner box was literally in shambles and pieces and the outer (Amazon) box was barely held together with a single strip of tape. I'm amazed nothing was lost in transit because there were gaping holes everywhere in both boxes by the time it made it to my door. That isn't anything to knock a star off, however, as this is a review of the stand, not the shipping quality (though I wanted to leave a note here as a heads up to others who might consider purchasing this). Perhaps due to the state of its packaging, the base does have one small area at the very edge where it looks like the lip was dragged across concrete or something. The coating is scraped and the outer edge is slightly bent downward, so I need to be careful when moving the stand as it scratches the desk. I can't imagine what force must have been set against it, because I'm not exaggerating when I say this stand, as a whole, is incredibly tough. Please don't think you'll damage this stand accidentally with regular use. Now this model is not the one with the telescoping arms, but that's alright as the normal model is rated for monitors up to 24". It's pretty easy to adjust a monitor on the stand. You can adjust height (overall by adjusting the horizontal arm, or individually for the two monitors on the wing mounts), level monitors horizontally, and tilt them up or down until you have them just right, all while they're on the stand. It might be a little jarring at first because you have to put a little force into it to get them going and then they *go*, so be prepared. Have a leveler ready and you'll be good to go. For the price and quality of this stand, as well as it being one of the few supporting up to 24" monitors, I have to wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a triple-monitor solution. In spite of a couple minor annoyances, I can't knock a star off for them. Not when this stand is such a great deal and is as tough and flexible as it is. EDIT: I've had this stand for a while now and have finally gotten in three 24" monitors. The stand, even without the extension arms, holds these monitors just fine. I know some people have talked about needing to loosen bolts and the like to adjust monitors, but honestly, I didn't have to do that. You just put a little muscle (well, maybe more than just a "little" for some) into it and the monitors will adjust accordingly.I really like this stand and it lets me angle in my two wing monitors inward so I can hide their bezels behind the center monitor. Helps lessen how much of a gap there is between them. To do this with 24" monitors, you will *have* to push/pull the monitors more inward, then bring the arms forward so the bezels on the wing monitors ends up behind the center monitor. Overall, stand is holding up well and is as sturdy as ever. I do not regret my purchase. ... show more

  • Simple design with detailed features
I bought this stand after learning that I would not be able to wall-mount my monitors in my new apartment. It is a really solid piece of kit, and it is clear that its designers paid attention to detail. Pros: - It's a large piece of steel. My desk is approximately 24 inches deep, and the base for this takes up almost all of that depth. The trade-off for this large footprint is that it is incredibly stable: I put one 24" monitor on the far left end of the mounting arm and the base did not tip. Also, the base is thin, so you can put a keyboard on top of it if you are lacking enough room elsewhere on the desk. - The monitor mounts are removable. Once you screw the mount onto the back of your monitors, you can simply lift them off of the base to move them around. The mounts have a spring-loaded steel pin that keeps them secured to the mounting arm. - There is a screw adjustment dedicated to setting the monitor's height relative to the other monitors. Having same-sized monitors sitting next to one another at different heights annoys the hell out of me, but the mounts have an adjustment that lets you fine tune their height, which helps to achieve a clean look. - You can mount just two monitors if you want. I have two 24" monitors mounted to the mounting arm comfortably. -Setup is very simple. Cons: - One of the mounts I received was stuck - the screws were too tight. It required WD-40 and some elbow grease to loosen them before the mount could adjust freely. - There are no spring-loaded adjustments for height, swivel, etc. This is the tradeoff for being solid. Other Comments: - Do not underestimate the size of this mount. Also, take into account that if you have three 24" monitors mounted, they will extend off of the edge of a 4-foot desk. - The geometry of the stand means that the monitors sit much closer to your head than you might think, even if the stand itself is placed at the far edge of your desk. ... show more
