🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The reviews for the EOTech EXPS2 are overwhelmingly positive, with users praising its intuitive reticle, ease of zeroing, and quick target acquisition. However, some users voiced concerns about the optics' packaging and pre-installed battery. The optic seems to ideally suit those with astigmatism, offering generous field of view and parallax error reduction.

Pros

  • 🎯 Optic provides intuitive reticle and quick target acquisition
  • 🧭 Zeroing is easy and the controls are simple to use
  • 🤓 Generous field of view and it suits those with astigmatism
  • 🔀 Minimal point of impact shift when shooting from unconventional positions
  • 🔋 Good battery life

Cons

  • 📦 Some concerns about the quality of the packaging
  • 🔋 Pre-installed battery might drain even with the optic off
  • 📏 It is bulkier than some other red dot sights

Should I Buy It?

The EOTech EXPS2 receives strong reviews for its accuracy, ease of use, and suitability for users with astigmatism. If you can overlook the minor issues with packaging and size, it appears to be an excellent choice for an optic that delivers outstanding performance.

  • Top of the line holographic weapon sight.
Style: EXPS2-0GRN
This is the best holographic sight I could find at any cost. Can’t beat Amazon for Prime delivery, and competitive pricing. Green color is optimal for daylight conditions. Huge range of brightness settings. Improved battery location is perpendicular to the recoil direction. I think the 1/3 co-witness is perfect for AR carbine. The built in quick release mounting system for Picatinny rail is excellent in design and function. ... show more

  • Best optical!
Style: EXPS2-0
I bought this a while back and in my opinion there is no better option. After all this time it's still zeroed in on target. Pretty unbelievable. Expensive but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend!

  • Mine was new and real
Style: EXPS2-0
Saw a lot of people complaining in the reviews about theirs being used or fake. Mine wasn't. And it was much cheaper than any brick and mortar store could offer. Plus other online stores who were charging another $50-$100 for theirs, plus shipping.

  • Great optic, for the AR-15 platform
Style: EXPS2-0
When I was in a position to, once again, add an AR-15 to my firearms collection, I gave lots of consideration and did lots of research as to whether I'd go with a red dot, holographic, or rifle scope for my optics choice. I finally gave in and went with this EOtech EXPS-2.0, with the red reticle. I LOVE IT!! As someone with nearsightedness, I was leaning towards a rifle scope that I could focus to my eye strength/weakness, and give myself an edge, but, as a combat vet, I also realized that if I ever had to use it in close quarters, I didn't want to lose an edge. So I chose this holographic sight to split the difference and I've been happy with the decision. Very clear glass! The reticle is very bright, even in the CA sunshine where I take it out to have fun. Battery life has been amazing. And, when it comes down to it, and when you use it properly, it improves your sight picture acquisition time, as well as helps your precision. My photo above is from this weekend and that is at 100 yards. A few groups are MOA and possibly sub-MOA. Can't hate on that. ... show more

  • Don't fiddle around with second-rate optics. Just spend the money on an EOtech.
Style: EXPS2-0
Buy once, cry once, laugh with joy for a lifetime. This optic is built to withstand doomsday. I spent $400 on a Holosun AEMS and was sorely disappointed. I returned it, dropped another $150 and got this and it lives up to the hype. My grandchildren will be putting holes in blue helmets with this thing long after I'm dead. ... show more

  • Genuine but shoddy craftsmanship
Style: EXPS2-0
PRO: The product is genuine, seems to function fine (for now), is better for astigmatism than a red dot, and looks to be quite sturdy except for the scratch on the rear glass. CON: As you can see in the pictures there is a large amount of excess sealant within the top of the glass on both sides of the sight. Even more concerning is the long white scratch on the top of the rear end of the sight. I had trouble getting a good picture, so some of these look like the scratch is part of the glare from that excess sealant, but it's not. You may say, hell, it's just a little excess sealant, but for a $600 sight you don't expect day 1 issues, it causes you to doubt the waterproofing on the sight, and it's quite shiny, which could give away your location if your use case entailed avoiding that. You may say, a little scratch on the top part of the sight? It's still functional, right? But this part is absolutely intolerable. You depend on this sight when operating a firearm, buy it for better peripheral awareness, so for the picture in any way to be compromised, it makes this worth maybe $100 tops for me. It also makes you wonder if the rear glass is entirely structurally sound. I'm very disappointed but, like the other reviewer who had the sealant issues but not the scratch, Amazon customer service quickly issued a refund without any hassle, even doing a UPS pickup at my front door due to the pandemic. I'll probably be buying this at a gun store where I can inspect the quality before buying, because I've waited at least a month to get this sight also due to the pandemic. I can use the quality Troy iron sights I got off amazon in the meantime. Save yourself the hassle and do the same. ... show more
