  • Portable with Great Sound
The set was easy to set up and it came with everything we needed. The material is quality, and the sound is very realistic My son is uses it to explore sounds and rhythms and I thought this was a good alternative drum set for apartment dwelling.

  • Fun for little (and bigger) drummers
There are a lot of these "roll-up" little electronic drum sets, I like the fact that this one uses cymbal imagery where the cymbals are, rather than just colors. You can charge it via USB and take it anywhere, which is a super cool feature. There are lots of different sounds available, and the sounds are adequate - actually they sound pretty good through a nice amplifier. Another nice feature is the headphone jack, so no one has to be bothered by the sound of the drums themselves, just the hitting of the rubber pads. Layout of the pads is good, makes playing around the kit easy, and the pedals for bass drum and hi-hat work fine for what they are. This is a great little kit for young musicians, but it's not what you want to get if you want to start your child on drum set - get a beginner trap set. But for a fun musical toy, or teaching rhythmic concepts, sound awareness, etc., it's great and kids will have a lot of fun with it, there are lots of different songs and rhythms to play along with. Under 50 bucks, which is around average for these kinds of kits, and it comes with sticks, though they are not full-sized sticks, they are more for kids. ... show more

  • definitely for kids and beginners
I was going to post a video but can't seem to get it off my phone. As an actual drummer, I find this electronic set sub par, but I imagine any kid would think it was a blast. The sounds in particular are sometimes abrasive, and this includes both the drum versions as well as the accompaniment button. This is an adult speaking - I believe a kid would think they were much "cooler" than I. The variety is impressive though. As is the "action" on the pads, as I like to call it. I could do decent drum rolls, and hop back and forth between pads pretty quickly without the unit missing a beat. You can adjust volume and tempo, and even record, though do I wish it had a loop button so when you do play something back you don't have to keep pressing the button to hear it again. The sample tunes you can drum to are sometimes helpful, sometimes so strange I can't figure out why they were included. And those terrible sounds... ... show more

  • Fun
You can't tap the edges. That won't get a response. Leaving the stick sitting in a position might produce noise. So if you're used to leaving it touching the snare, be careful. That aside, this piece has a nice weight to it. The material does seem to be well made. It comes with a USB-C cord that's about 3 ft long. You could probably get longer to suit your needs. It can't be used with batteries at all. The buttons on the top are: decrease volume, increase volume, style, demo, record, play, "RHY" (play accompaniment), start/stop, t- (decrease speed of demo/accompaniment), and t+ (increase speed of demo/accompaniment). The LED showing the power and record are at the end. The back has an on/off switch, USB-C plug in, foot pedal connection, head phone connection, and mp3 connection. The drumsticks are a great quality. Looking at other product reviews I would say this might be on par with other models available for a lower price. The record, demo, and accompaniment feature are unique. The style feature (recycling different drum sounds) is fun too. I do like this product quite a bit. ... show more

  • Great for Beginners!
I will first admit that I was a little worried that this might be too young for my 8 year old son. We've tried out some other drums sets but they all seemed a little "baby-ish" and he would very quickly forget about them. But not this one! My son absolutely loves this! He hasn't stopped trying to figure out how everything works and what kinds of beats he can create! I think his favorite part though is the drum sticks - they're made of actual wood, like the real drummers! (He's been carrying those to bed with him for the last few nights.) One of my favorite things (other than his joy) is that he can plug in some headphones while jamming out. I don't mind his playing and banging on these drums so much, but he does have sisters who are autistic and sometimes the loud noise can get to them (sensory issue). Him being able to continue playing while wearing some headphones had made this much more bearable to them. :-) And I also love that it's super simple to roll this one up to put away after a jam session! I would recommend this to other parents who may want their child to at least learn the beginnings of a musical instrument. ... show more
