  • Good Scooter Again
Style: JS03
This scooter is our third one in our family. We had two similar scooters. For this one, greatbattery build could last more than 5 hours on normal drive mode. Nice and neat design, and perfect height for 8 years old kids to play. Still having lots of fun for the ride and will update the experience for the long term run. Good buy again. ... show more

  • Lacks Sufficient Power to Match Claims
Style: JS03
Let's start off with the good. The scooter arrived as well boxed as any product I've ever purchased from Amazon. They have designed their packaging to withstand the unbelievably poor handling that UPS is known for in our area. Assembly was easy. You need to install 4 screws into the handlebar post. The provided 3mm wrench was terrible so I had to open up the tool box and grab a higher quality 3mm hex driver and a driver. The bars fold down and into position using a locking lever. The remainder of the setup involved removing the protective film from the screen and lights. The scooter feels pretty solidly built. A long press on the power button (2 to 3 seconds) turns the unit on and off. A quick press of the button turns the lights on or off. A quick tap of the button twice changes the modes. And let's talk about the modes... to access the top speed setting, regen braking and start torque you must install the "VICONT" app. It was a little tricky to get the app to sync with the device but I found turning the GPS on and then off on my phone a few times seemed to help. Once connected there is a GEAR setting where you can adjust the motor parameters. I adjusted the top speed to 18.26 MPH and set the TORQUE to maximum. I turned the regen braking up a little too. The foot board is pretty wide and grippy. And when my 215 lbs stands on the scooter it doesn't seem to flex as much as I was expecting. The battery arrived fully charged. It has a pleasant DING DING bell mounted on the left side that sounds just as it should. Polite but authoritative. That's where the Good ends and the issues start. The grips aren't very secure to the bar and they rotate pretty easily. I can fix that with some double sided tape and some hair spray. The tires are rock hard. These are solid tires and you can feel it when you run over something as small as a pine needle or leaf on a smooth surface. Rough surfaces are pretty violent. Small pieces of sand or gravel can be nerve wracking. Power... well the claim of being able to climb a 20* incline WITH EASE is pure nonsense for someone my size. Not knowing a lot about E-Scooters I've quickly learned that 350w is clearly not sufficient to move a 200lb person up any real incline. A small child might be able to slowly climb a 20* incline but an adult will have to "foot assist" and help kick the scooter up the hill. On much less severe hills the scooter will slow down to a very not-satisfying pace. On level ground the scooter manages to zip around OK but don't for one second think this scooter would be viable as a commuter in a city with any sorts of inclines beyond what one would consider to be ADA compliant. The brakes are awful. For an adult you will need to increase the regenerative braking or you will crash into whatever you were braking to avoid. The mechanical brakes make a pretty nasty grinding noise and it's not until the regen kicks in that the scooter responds to the request to slow down. The App isn't great but it works. Thankfully it has a guest mode but you still need to get connected to the scooter to change what I'd consider to be very basic settings. If you can't connect for some reason you won't be able to adjust some very important parameters. TLDR = This scooter isn't for you unless it will operate only on smooth, flat surfaces. ... show more

  • Struggles on inclines
Style: JS03
This scooter is fun and does very well on flat surfaces. We use it mainly for play and roaming around the neighborhood, so it's great for that. If you are thinking of using this for commuting, then there are a couple things I'd like to call out. For starters, the scooter struggles to keep speed on a slight incline. I'm 130lbs and when I started to go up hill, I couldn't get he scooter to go above 13mph. I went about a quarter mile uphill and the battery dropped two bars in this distance. Secondly, there is no suspension on this scooter. You feel every bump in the road and crack in the sidewalk. If you are not riding this on a perfectly smooth surface, be prepared to be rattled. Lastly, the brakes are delayed and do not respond when first pressed. There is about a one second delay, which could be an issue if you need to brake on the spot. All that being said, for the price, it's built well and the battery does hold fairly well (if mainly on flat surfaces). ... show more

  • Efficient and smooth ride
Style: JS03
I recently had the pleasure of testing out the Qlaway E Scooter, and it exceeded my expectations in many ways. The 8.5" tires are a bit on the smaller side, but keep the scooter slim and the weight down. Larger wheels will give it a smoother and better ride, but this scooter strikes a perfect balance between style, performance, and portability. Comfort & Ride Quality The 8.5" wheels do a decent job of absorbing shocks from rough terrain, making for a much smoother ride compared to scooters with smaller tires. Whether you're riding on bumpy streets or uneven paths, the scooter maintains its composure, providing a level of comfort that is hard to beat in this category. Performance The scooter has a powerful motor that delivers strong acceleration, making it ideal for city commuting. I was impressed with its ability to handle inclines without feeling sluggish. Its top speed is fast enough for a fun and efficient ride, but not too fast to feel unsafe for the average user. Battery life is also decent, offering around 25-30 miles on a single charge depending on riding conditions, which is more than sufficient for most daily commutes. Build Quality & Design The overall construction of the Qlaway E Scooter feels solid and well-made. It has a sleek, modern design with attention to detail. The deck is spacious, providing ample room for comfortable foot placement, and the handlebars are ergonomic, making long rides less tiring. It folds easily, which is a big plus for those who need to carry or store the scooter in small spaces. Braking System & Safety The dual-braking system works efficiently, providing good stopping power even at higher speeds. I found the brakes to be responsive without being overly sensitive, which is ideal for urban environments where quick stops are sometimes necessary. The LED headlight and taillight offer decent visibility at night, enhancing the overall safety features. Verdict The Qlaway E Scooter with 8.5" tires is a well-rounded option for anyone looking for a reliable, smooth, and enjoyable ride. Its larger tires make a noticeable difference in ride comfort, and it performs exceptionally well on city streets. Whether you’re a commuter or just someone looking for a fun way to get around town, this scooter offers great value for its price. Rating: 4.5/5 ... show more
