This anchor goes into the last wood post on either side of a fence gate, where one eye serves to loop and tie off the fence wire, and the other serves as one side of your gate connection. The anchors go in fairly easily if you drill a pilot hole for the screw, and the two eyes can either serve as handles to twist the anchor in or a place to thread a rod to assist in turning. I don't know what gauge they are, but this anchor is made of seriously heavy metal Building or repairing fences of any kind is repetitive, tedious, and difficult work, so I really appreciate anything that can make any part of the job simpler or easier.     • Keep your electric fence tight

I install a lot of electric fencing, and these double-eye anchors are essential to a good, tight installation that requires a gate. By anchoring your wire or polywire to one side of the insulator, and using the other side for the gate attachment your wire never goes slack when disengaging the spring loaded gate or electrified bungee for the gate. Without these, when you disengaged one wire the whole line goes slack and can cause unintended contact with t-posts, other wires, or just get entangled. These keep everything tight while just the gate section opens up. You do need to drill pilot holes though, as it can be difficult to thread them in otherwise. The conductivity is great to both sides so when all connected again the fence is fully energized. ... show more

Work as it should. Can either be hand screwed in or I used a drill to start a hole and then it went in much faster. The middle section has some give to it to make attaching and tightening easier for me. This pack is a 6 count.
