Description

The EGO POWER+ 16” Chain Saw features an advanced, high-efficiency brushless motor that delivers power equivalent to a 40CC gas chainsaw without the noise, fuss, or fumes. Powered by any EGO POWER+ 56V ARC Lithium™ battery, this cordless chainsaw delivers up to 220 cuts on a 4x4 when used with the included 4.0Ah ARC Lithium™ battery. The chainsaw features a tool-free chain tensioning system that allows fast, easy bar and chain adjustments through independent dials. These low-profile dials also allow the electric chainsaw to cut flush to the ground. Its 16-inch bar and chain with 20m/s chain speed delivers clean, efficient cuts while its automatic oiling system keeps the saw lubricated throughout the cutting process. This saw works great for the type of tasks a homeowner is likely to have — it can take out reasonably sized logs and downed trees, but is light and easy to use. The battery life is great — I wear out before it does. And while not all that heavy it’s also not super light — which is good, because I don’t want a super light chainsaw. You need the saw to have enough weight to do the work, and this does yet is well balanced. Overall an excellent addition to my tools and one I’m already finding lots of uses for. While I suspect it could be put to occasional commercial use, it’s not really a pro machine — but it’s the sort of chainsaw a homeowner will find very useful. I would’ve never considered buying a chainsaw that was battery powered before. However, reading all the reviews, I trusted and took the leap. I’m thrilled that I did. It’s not too heavy, cuts like butter, and is very user-friendly. Not having the fumes and gas/oil mix hassle is a huge perk. Highly recommended! I also own one of the blowers, which is also really impressive. I’m definitely sold on this brand and will buy more products as needed. The fact that all the batteries are interchangeable as a huge plus. Tip, definitely buy the product with the battery/charger. I own a Husqvarna 51 gas chain saw. It’s been reliable and does a good job. But I wanted something a bit lighter, quieter and better suited to taking on smaller jobs quickly. Not heavy tree felling or massive storm damage. But for limbing, moderate pruning or cutting up medium sized downfall in a nearby stream. It has enough power for those tasks. Cuts cleanly with no effort. Bar oil should be a thinner weight than a gas model. Check the chain tension often. Turn the bar over after installing a new or newly sharpened chain. ... show more

This battery chain saw is equal to a 40cc gas model but without the fuel mixing and without the constant running / restarting. It instantly runs at speed and cuts very quickly with little to no kick back (helped by the anti kick back supplied chain). I haven't cut anything larger than 6-8 inch logs but there's no reason larger logs wouldn't be just as quick and easy. The battery lasts a LONG time. I haven't actually run it down to zero while cutting most of the day on smaller branches and downed limbs. I use the EGO chainsaw oil which is "biodegradable" and quite thick. This review is written by someone who has never used a chainsaw before. The chainsaw arrived with the battery partially charged, no bar and chain oil in the box-need to purchase separately. The chainsaw is easy to use, lightweight even with the battery. It cut through the logs easily; if you haven’t used one before read the tips in the instruction manual. I got it jammed in a log because I was pushing down rather than allowing the machine to do its job. When it jammed I pulled the chain off accidentally; that was a chore to get back on, but once I figured out how (watched a you tube) it came together and I was able to complete my project. The next time I used it was super easy. This is my 3rd EGO product, make sure you register this on EGO’s website, trying to get a warranty repair will suck your soul clean out of your body. I needed a warranty repair on my mower and it took their customer service department 3 days and 3 phone calls to complete the claim. Each phone call was ridiculously long as I was put on hold multiple times while the gal “checked on things”. You will need a copy of your receipt to register - doing this before needing warranty service will not speed up the process, but better to do it before you need it and have lost the receipt. If you do a warranty claim, stand beside the machine the whole time because they will literally ask 3 times for the serial number, even though you provided it during registration. I do like EGO products, I find their batteries last a good long time and fit all of their products. But their customer service needs some MAJOR work. ... show more

I had a large pine tree fall in my yard during Hurricane Beryl. It flattened my back fence and I couldn't get that fixed until I got the tree cut up. After getting some quotes, I thought "I can do that myself and save some money" and set to work with this chainsaw. Even though the tree was wider than the chainsaw, I managed to get through it without too much difficulty. I was able to get quite a few cuts per full charge of battery. It is very easy to use and quite well balanced compared to some of the other lawn tools, thanks to the battery mounting directly under the main body of the tool. Feels very powerful and the included chain cut through smaller sections of the tree in no time at all. I am very happy with it. ... show more

I am very impressed with this saw. It has more power than i expected as well as the battery lasted longer than expected. I cut up several logs as well as a lot of smaller twigs/limbs. Granted, these branches etc has been felled for a couple months and some longer than that. The largest log i cut was about 20" in diameter and it went thru it with ease, but was not a log full of sap etc. either. I do highly recommend this unit. Cut here to Pennsylvania and I was laughed at it first how dare I get an electric chainsaw but let me tell you this thing proved its weight and gold it cut through the thickest branch I’ve ever had to deal with and trunk and it was phenomenal. The battery lasted all day. I never even had to get it and recharge it and when I did finally recharge, it really was a phenomenal recharge process. Excellent product highly recommended, especially if you hate dealing with storage of fuel and liquids now granite you do have to have bar oil, but overall that’s nothing compared to what you’re saving with the environment. ... show more
