  • Bullseye!
First, a bit of history - the unfiltered exhaust of a gas mower always made me ill fast so I opted for a push mower back in the day, even with a pretty big yard. When corded electric mowers came along, I jumped. Once you get the hang of managing the cord, it works pretty well. Back in 2017, I bought a cordless mower. After struggling with first mow, took it back and bought another corded mower. Before my first mow with the EGO, I was super concerned about battery life. I bought the package with the 2 10Ah batteries and fast charger. Charged the batteries up and installed the high lift lower blade. Front and back yards add up to about a quarter acre. I chose to not use the self propulsion. The EGo is surprisingly nimble for its weight and easy to push. Finished all in 45 minutes less time with ease. High lift blade picked up tons of loose leaves too. Emptied about 2x the amount of clippings as usual. On top of it all, used only about 25% juice. I put the battery back in the charger before I edged and cleaned up. By the time I was done, it was full. All I got to say is wow. Comparing to the Tesla seems spot on after this first mow. Having the extra battery and fast charger, I immediately bought the backpack blower to replace the old B&D corded one I have owned going on 30 years now. Refuses to quit, but is heavier than all get-out and I am an old dude now. Hope this review helps. ... show more

  • Great
Works great . Good cut, battery life and very light compared to old Toro gas “mower”

  • The Power of Gas but with the Convenience of Electric
I previously was using a Toro gas, self-propelled, walk-behind, mower that was having issues with driving the cutting blade. I wanted to go electric, but was a bit skeptical that I would have the same power as the gasoline mower provides. Well, the EGO LM2156SP won me over. I just mowed through a thick patch today and was surprised at how easily the EGO got through it. I thought about getting the LM2167SP, which is top-of-the-line, but wanted more control over the self-propulsion. It also scored lower in the ratings of a well-known consumer magazine. I think I made the right choice. I like being able to manually set the speed of the mower. I can also use the self-propulsion without engaging the cutting blade. There are eight height adjustments. I have my EGO set at three, and my yard looks beautiful after a fresh cut. I found that the batteries last for about an hour on a full charge, and the batteries charge in about 70 minutes. I have a large yard, and it takes me about two hours to do the whole thing. So thankful that the mower came with two batteries. The only thing I am worried about is the sturdiness of the mower. I am used to a mower with a steel deck. The plastic deck of the EGO makes it easier to maneuver, but also makes it seem less sturdy. Also, the self-propelled feature makes a high-pitched, whiny sound which seems sort of like a RC-controlled toy car. I hope it holds up. Anyway, I found the EGO for $100 less on Google Shopping, but, unfortunately the seller would not price match. I am still happy with my purchase. No more pulling a cord and hoping it will start. EGO is the way to go! ... show more

  • Quiet mower and great technology
Ordered the 2156XP. Upon unboxing I noticed the model # on mower was a 2150XP. I called Amazon who was very kind but wasn't sure why item was 2150XP but box said 2156XP. I then contacted manufacturer, EGO who explained the mower is correct. The model 2156XP is the accessory pack with the mower 2150XP which includes two 10a batteries and a rapid charger. After charging batteries and reading manuals for several days, I was ready to turn it on. it started great but for some reason the blades would not engage. I re-read the manuals again. I messed with the handles, extending them fully out again. Thinking that was the problem. The manual said they must be fully extended, but that wasn't the problem. After about three days of trying different things, I watched some utube videos. Several reels explained that you have to hold down the power button while simultaneously depressing the self propel bar. That was the problem. For those of you purchasing this mower, just know to fully extend the handle & make sure you're holding on to the start button while you're depressing the self propel bar to engage the blades. ... show more

  • EGO Self-propelled 700 watt mower really delivers on the promise
:Nearly 100 pounds in the box, the 57V EGO Self-propelled 700 watt mower arrived in perfect shape. The sturdy delivery box made it easy to tilt and neutralize its weight. Unpacking was simple and the fully-assembled mower was easy to roll out. After charging the hefty 10 AH battery, it only took a minute to master the intuitive controls and I soon found myself at a casual stroll, cutting 600 foot long swaths across our 3 acre property…The ease with which the motor and cutting blades handled thick, foot tall grass and mustard weeds, together with the built-in overload-safety feature that immediately turns off the power if you, for instance, get a pine cone caught in the mowing deck — was much appreciated — and the sturdy mowing handle makes tilting the mower on its side, to clear the mowing deck a breeze. When I noticed the battery charge indicator was on its final leg, I was over 600 feet away from the garage; uphill most of the way. Self-propulsion made for an easy stroll back — and the push-button thumb release made changing the battery surprisingly easy. We like to keep our acres looking like a park, This mower does a great job and gives us an enjoyable way to “get our steps in” without any noise or gas pollution. 5 stars. ... show more
