Overall this OBDII Code Scanner delivers on all the basics and then some. It was able to quickly connect to my car. It clearly showed fault codes and clearing them was intuitive. I have a few other OBDII scanners/code readers (see photo) and this one pulls the same data (and more in some cases) as the others for OBDII data. On top of being able to read codes and clear them. You can use this to actually troubleshoot using the live data streams of the O2 sensors, A/F sensors, Long-term and Short-term fuel trims, as well as ~40 other live data pids. You also can view the Mode6 data. My older units will not pull Mode6 data and do not have air fuel sensor pids so it is showing as O2 pids even on newer cars with A/F sensors. All in all it does the job and for a $25ish code scanner this is a great bang for the buck. Side note, the cord measured 34" and was plenty long for me to use sitting in my front seat holding the unit. A couple things you should know that some may consider cons (but again it is a $25 tool) 1. You can not select a set of pids when viewing live data you scroll up and down to see the pids you want 2. There is no graphing of the streams 3. There are a lot of abbreviations so you may need to look up some to know what your viewing 4. Screen is on the small side (but that is also what makes it compact and convenient to store in a glove box) So even with the "Cons" for the price I feel you are getting a great tool that does the job it is meant to do so for me it is 5 stars. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The instructions are not very clear, it freezes up sometimes and it shows you communication errors but for the most part it works!. As a non professional mechanic, I think it's a pretty useful tool and for the price is not bad.

Not sure why my Highlanders started throwing check engine code, the same code each time using OBD scanners from various auto parts stores. Dealer can't replicate the problem and the car runs fine, no loss of power, etc. and then disappears. Code comes and goes. Yes, you can get a free diag code from auto parts store but given the price and having 4 other ICE cars thought might as well. Pros: - plug and play, literally - bright color LED screen - portable - no batteries needed (runs off OBD port I assume, lol) - easy to use, didn't even need to read the instructions Cons: - not free, lol ... show more

It does not recognize my 2019 Cadillac XTS, nor is Cadillic in the list of brands for a manual set up. I have emailed support twice but have recieved no responses. Perhaps you should try looking at another brand.

I got this scanner and everything worked fine but then I started noticing issues, I hooked it up to my Lincoln and it was saying my traction control was needing to be serviced on my dash and my ac wouldn’t work anymore. Then I hooked it to my girlfriends Camaro and it lost all connections with the tcm and I had to go to the dealership and get it re programmed. I wouldn't suggest it personally ... show more

    • Great buy, but one small quirk

Color LCD, quick response, easy to navigate, but one small quirk (might be fixed by an update; full disclosure: I have not checked for any yet)... When clearing trouble codes manually, you have to go back one level in the menu after the code is read/displayed in order to have the clear option. That said, as a point of mention to anyone who is clearing these codes and may be unaware, generally, an onboard computer will clear diagnostic codes automatically after a problem is corrected and the vehicle is operated for a short trip -- no need to manually clear/reset. Overall this is a great product I would recommend, especially if you take advantage of the $4 off coupon; I ended up buying one to keep in each vehicle and have no regrets so far. ... show more
