Low tech works best in this case. It will heat house 1 degree hotter than setting then settle in exactly on temp setting. Small 10 minute bursts to maintain desired temperature. Accurate within 1 degree of other thermometers I placed in same area as thermostat. I don't need algorithms supposedly learning my habits. When in reality the high tech thermostats are just selling your information. Large #'s, good back lighting, easy install. The original thermostat was a Honeywell that was way to complex that I had to look up the instructions every year to figure out how to use the thing since we only use it to control heat. It got so frustrating this year that I got fed up and looked for something much more simple with zero programming needed. This EconoHome thermostat was PERFECT.     • Tricky to understand the wiring, but it's a decent product that works well.
RC/RH is a single wire if your old thermostat had a four-wire system. If your old panel wiring has a Red (power), white, green, and Yellow wire going into it, you'll use the Red to go into the RC *OR* RH terminals on this product. Leave the jumper in place, DO NOT REMOVE IT if you have four wires like this- this is because that wire needs to power two separate places. The other wires go to their color-matching terminal being W-B-G. You're welcome. ;) ... show more

I like the back light and ease of use...my husband installed it and it works great with our new Rheem AC unit. At times, Our old thermostat wouldn't turn the AC unit off. This one keeps a steady Temperature throughout the house..

This was just what we were looking for. A simple to use, easy to read, large digital display (with backlight) thermostat. It even used the same mounting holes that the old programmable thermostat had, so it was a breeze to install. Why the heck don't the hardware stores sell these?! No one liked the old programmable unit as it was too complicated, too many settings, that were always getting messed up (always had to just go back to putting it on HOLD). This one has just one temperature threshold, just "Set It and Forget It". Easy to select COOL, HEAT, or OFF switch. Works great! Inexpensive! ... show more

    • Room temp not correct
1 year old, has worked perfect until now. Room temp reads incorrectly. I am afraid that with winter coming I will not be able to control temp.
