This skateboard is fun once you get the hang of it, but I also find in sort of dangerous. I had the rear wheels engage often when I was not on the board and something just would bump it (like my foot). Also, the included instructions are not specifically just for this board, it's like they are for a bunch of different boards and they just printed one booklet and it's confusing because it is talking about a remote that isn't in the box and then when you find the part for this board (which is all the way in the back) they recommend just jumping off the board to stop it. I have been on skateboards since I was 13 so it didn't take too long to figure this thing out, but this could be very dangerous for someone new to skateboarding. Another issue is that, out of the box, the grip tape was loose and opened up to expose the pressure pad on the rear. I placed it back on, but it was not specifically stated anywhere how to place the pad. Overall, this is a fun board, but there are a couple safety issues and weird issues with the instructions. I would not get another of these until those issues are fixed. And I would not let my young son ride this board. ... show more

The instructions say there are membranes on the board that control or sense acceleration, I can't seem to find or feel them. It just feels like even grip tape all the way across. The board itself looks great, but the whole concept of not being able to stop unless you jump off is a whole 'nother level of disaster waiting to happen; especially if you are at the max speed. ... show more

What a disappointing electric skateboard. First off the manual provided is a good laugh. The punctuation/wording is pretty bad, it describes remotes, accessories and models that aren’t even this version. The little quick start guide actually is for this electric skateboard and that’s wrong too. The quick start guide describes charging indicators and power buttons. This model has neither which defeats the purpose of an electronic skateboard. Next issue is the quality. The anti skid material for your shoes on the board was already peeling undone right out of the box. Look at my pictures provided. This already makes the board dangerous to ride. After using it very cautiously my 12 year old daughter mostly had to pedal it manually. The power function would start with some movement then stop running. This board was on a charger for over 8 hours and without a charging indicator it’s useless. Lastly the last issue is the price. This board is way over priced for the quality and features. My husband got this for the kids (13 & 10 yo) and the instruction book says it has a remote, but our box did not have one. A quick note to the company about getting a remote only to get a reply that there is no remote for this model, it is activated by where you stand and you kicking off, but then it only stops when you jump off? We did not think this was wise for the kids given their ability to not injure themselves gravely by jumping off at a minimum speed of three mph was too big of a risk. Fun idea, bad design. This is a really cool electric skateboard. It has a running max of 9MPH which is great for my 8 yo nephew. He is an active kid and loves anything with wheels. I like that this board has a max MPH - makes it a little safer for him - he cant get it going that fast. It has great balance and a smooth roll. The wheels are soft for concrete and asphalt - smooth and quiet. The battery charges quickly and last him as long as he's needed - over an hour of messing around in my driveway & down the sidewalk. There was still battery left when he was done. I am not a skateboard rider at all so for more technical info check out Unrealtrip's review below. We actually used his review when getting started more than the instruction book which is not the greatest. You have to kick to get it up to speed then step on the pad over the back wheel truck then the motor will kick on. It is much like my pedal assist tire on my bike. It will not just pull you along, you have to get it going then it will continue to keep you at that speed. The handles on the edges of the board are awesome - makes it easy for him to carry and we have hooks in the garage that he hangs it on to charge/store. Unfortunately this is super uncomfortable and slow battery last like 5 minutes when I ride it it is rough and vibration makes it hard to see rattles my whole body I was expecting something bigger and a smoother ride :(
