  • Awesome saw like a Motocross screamer
I like others purchased it, assembled it and tried to crank it. My advise is skip cranking it. Instead, take it to an Echo dealer. Ask them to show you how to crank it. I apparently flooded it. The local dealer cleared it and showed me how to crank it. Thanks to Dave's Lawnmower in Lake Hamilton. It runs like a dream. It's lighter than a Husqvarna or Stihl. In about twenty minutes an 18 foot hickory was cut in sections. I bought this beast because of the quality of my CS400. A crank thru is best advised. Also, tighten the chain to tight. It stretches when cutting. I apparently did not submit my review. So, since then, I have cut up a 20 foot section from a 60 plus foot hickory tree. It rocked it. Towards the end of the day, I had to remove the chain in order to clean the bar. A tooth brush later, I replaced it and off to the races again. This saw is lighter than the Husqvarna 460 with 24". It is a little nose heavy. But, it handles very well. And, it doesn't vibrate too much or make my hands itch from vibration. ... show more

  • Starting procedure - Very important for satisfaction
Very easy to flood. This is the starting procedure. #1 - Pull choke lever out #2 - Pull starting handle until engine fires #3 - Fully push in the choke lever #4 - Pull starting handle until engine fires and idles. If you do not follow this procedure, the carb will flood and it will NOT start until you pull the spark plug and dry the fuel out. ... show more

  • Problems from day one
The saw arrived with no chain bar. The saw leaks fuel and doesn't start. I had it fixed. It ran good for a while, and then started leaking fuel and not starting again. It's a lemon.

  • item in stock, on time delivery
I was looking for this specific item... Echo 24" Timber Wolf. I tried the cheaper priced provider and after 6 days there was no response. I ordered from Amazon ($30 more) but just what I needed to work on that hurricane downed tree. It was here in 2 days as promised. Works like a charm and comes highly recommended by people who use chain saws daily as be the most reliable brand. ... show more

  • Supper nice saw and sharp.
Over the years I've had many eco saw from 40cc up t0 59cv slowly up grading and after the husqvarna I bought 6 months ago kicked the bucket way to soon I went back and tried this temberwolf. Man dose this saw rip, I cut down a 22" white oak in record time. I will say got to watch the blade. I had the saw off with the brake on get knocked into my leg 20 minutes after receiving the saw and went through jeans and ended in 12 stitches below the knee. Saw ship quickly to, had it two days sooner then estimated. ... show more

  • I came, I sawed, I conquered.
Chances are, if you're thinking about buying a "24 inch chain saw, you either know what you're doing, or you're going to discover you do not. The Echo CS-590-24 59.8cc 24" Rear Handle Timber Wolf Chainsaw is the real deal. You're going to cut down good sized trees, and move what a hurricane left you, or you're going to be cutting a lot of firewood. But for most job, you need something much smaller, and if so, keep moving on. It's cold blooded, you might have a little trouble getting it started but once you do, nothing stands in its way. Hard working, long running, easy to handle, and steady. The hurricane left me with a yard full of downed tress and the Timberwolf is my only friend. Use safety glass, chaps, heavy gloves, and wear boots. This is a serious tool and you must, I repeat must, respect it as such. I have a giant live oak that went down, and this is day three of removal. This saw is everything I need. ... show more

Removed new saw from box. Installed bar/chain. "Took out spark plug dropped a lil oil in cylinder." This is key to starting new Echo! Reinstalled plug. Took off air filter an fitted an oring between saw and filter. Reinstalled.Filled tank with premix saw fuel. Filled with bar oil. Flipped switch on. Pushed in compression button. Pulled choke out. Pulled new saw 3x. Initial start up cough. Pulled trigger, choke went in. Pulled saw 2x and it fired right up! Let warm up for 3-5 min. then wrapped throttle! Ready to cut some wood!! ... show more
