  • These are great.
Light weight, less than the stihl 150 and better balanced. I like to put on a 1/4" sprocket and a tapered 12" or 14" bar, as the 3/8" bar/sprocket it comes with seems bigger than needed, but does work. The oiler seems to go out after a year or so of regular use, but that's easy to replace with the internets. I've purchased and heavily used half a dozen of these. I'd say they're less durable than stihl/husky overall, but not overly cheap and the lower price, lighter weight, and better balance for the size makes these really great tree saws for climbers. Vroom vroom. ... show more

  • Nothing beats a Stihl
I normally use the Stihl 194t top handle chainsaw for in tree and quick and easy use. I had to get in an emergency situation after Hurricane Ian for my business. Not impressed. At all. I even switched to a 12" bar to see if it would regain some power and smoothness. Nope. Not a smooth cut, bouncy, Not fuel efficient, not worth the price. I would never buy another echo chainsaw based off using this one. It bogs down easily, just all around unimpressive. My opinion is that if you are able to get a Stihl, get a Stihl. ... show more

  • oil cap constantly gets loose
The saw is very light weight (5-6 lbs) and powerful for its size. However, I am disappointed as during the 1st day of log cutting/ tree pruning I noticed the chain oil cap kept getting loose. I tightened it each time. However, I didn't check it quick enough the 3rd time and it was lost in the woods. Ordered new parts; lost 3 days of productivity. ... show more

  • A Real Gem!
I have owned quite a few chainsaws over the years from various brands: Stihl, Homelite, Poulan, etc. This is hands-down my favorite so far. It is a good example of the principle "You get what you pay for." This costs about triple of the price of a generic Chinese-made chainsaw you might buy in the BigBox home improvement store, but you can tell that it was engineered for years of professional use and not just mass-produced to meet a price point. Every detail, from the chain tightening to the overall fit and finish screams out quality. You might want something a bit larger if you plan to cut up a few cords of oak for the winter wood pile, but for my purposes it seems to perform easily on a par with the full-sized models that I have owned in the past. It slices limbs from softwood trees like moringa or heliotrope as effortlessly as a Star Wars light saber. And that is not even the best part yet. It is so compact and well-balanced that you can use it with one hand! OK, now for the bad news. Because it is so tiny, the moving chain is significantly closer to your body than you may be used to with your old chainsaw. You absolutely cannot let your attention lapse for even a second. Wear Kelvar sleeves and chaps. It is also a bit awkward to start because it is too small to rest your foot on it like you may be used to. A small price to pay. Also, unless you plan to do a lot of tree climbing you will probably be happier with the 14" chain bar rather than the standard 12" bar. If you plan to cut a lot of hardwoods it is worth spending the extra money for a carbide chain blade. ... show more

  • Research product
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is an awesome tool, period!. I did not like it so much from the dealer, but with some searching you can find how it is supposed to work. The easily done chain and bar modification, makes it the first saw I grab on every job. Bless all!
