  • Set it and forget it!
So good. It’s not an all in one multiple delay pedal, with 20 variations. Look elsewhere for that. What it IS is a great sounding delay reverb that can go from Sun Studio slapback to absolutely cavernous ambience and never sound muddy. The delay really stays out of the way while you’re playing and then pops back up when you let a passage breathe. It plays well in front of your amp or in the effects loop, and is stellar after dirt pedals. There is not a bad sound in it. No matter where I put the knobs, it sounds musical and never cluttered. It won’t self oscillate, but that’s okey with me. You can still manipulate the time knob for noisy goodness, but it never gets out of control. If you’re like me and just want a reverb/delay 2 in 1 that sounds awesome with minimal knob twiddling, you can’t go wrong. There’s a reason that they’ve sold something like 10,000 units of this. ... show more

  • What it does, it does well
The Dispatch Master can produce some lovely effects and it's totally intuitive to use, but to my ear it's not quite as good as it could be. The good stuff: The pedal is painless to use. Adjust one or two knobs and get back to playing. A brilliant "feature" is that the Despatch Master will not self-oscillate. This is the tendency of delay pedals to pile on infinite layers of repeats until excruciatingly loud (and utterly non-musical) noise is produced. This is a real flaw in pedals like the Belle Epoch and Carbon Copy, and can get you thrown out of your apartment if you're not careful. The Dispatch Master's reverb is very nice. You don't get a dozen different types and all sorts of adjustible parameters, so hats off to EQD for making such great choices! There are things that could be better. To my ear, the Dispatch Master makes things just a little tinny or pingy. It's not huge, but it reminded me of my Boss DD-2, the original digital delay pedal. When I compared to the DD-2, the Dispatch Master was even a little brighter. With single coil pickups, I thought it was a little harsh, but it might be perfect with a guitar that's dark sounding. The other thing is the lack of adjustable modulation (pitch). I have a bunch of delays, and after reverb, the two things that make a delay sound really huge are modulation and stereo. I agree that on a simple pedal, stereo would add cost and not be taken advantage of by many players. But the ability to add a small amount of modulation would be fantastic. Not the awful "seasick" thing that just sounds out of tune, but a little pitch warble. Even a fairly inexpensive delay like the Carbon Copy has this feature. Of course all the above is just my opinon and as you can see from the other reviews, people love this pedal. EQD seems like a really cool company, too. ... show more

  • It does a few things, and it does them well
I'm sure people vary, but, having a pedal that does a few things really well, is now more important to me than a multi-effects pedal that can do a million things. Now, I would rather have the five things on the multi-effects pedal that you truly like as separate pedals. You push a button, and, hey presto, it makes the sound you like. I gave my son the $350 dollar reverb pedal, and use this for reverb instead, bearing in mind I have a Fender Twin with spring reverb built in as my main reverb. It does one (more or less) really good reverb, rather than 15. I have had to put it near the beginning of my effects chain because I use an overdrive (Greer Light Year), boost (Klon KTR), and another boost (Zvex Super Hardon) and all that boosting was too much for the Dispatch Master and distorted the circuit in a really bad way. I love it for "lead" tones over chord progressions I record on my looper. ... show more

  • The Best Delay and Pedal Reverb in the market period!
I have been a Earthquaker Device customer for years. This is my first Delay/Reverb pedal from the product catalog. It's digital delay pedal with 1.5 second delay and the reverb can downright lush. It's a portable pedal if you invest in a smaller to go board if you perform or in a hurry. I use to carry my Meris Mercury 7 and a Strymon El Capistan pedal but I used those for studio but this is my go to and leave on pedal. If you're looking for a pedal to save on a delay or reverb the Dispatch Master V3 is the way to go! ... show more

  • Great tone
If you're looking for huge clear reverb, this is a good unit, though I found it a bit of a one-trick pedal. One feature I appreciated is how it handles long reverb tails. While many pedals will go into unwanted feedback loops, this extended the effect cleanly.

  • Incredible
Sounds amazing, I don't know what else to say. Low settings make it sound like you're live in concert. High settings make you sound like an alien, and everything in between. Goes amazing with all my other pedals. Never turning it off.

  • If you can only have 1
The Dispatch Master. The team over at EQD knows what’s going on creating equipment that allows a musician to paint beautiful foreboding soundscapes with the click of a switch. The Dispatch master can be as subtle or tremendous as the user sees the need for, a slight turn of a knob and your where you want to be sonically. A reverb/delay combo pedal that does everything you’d expect it to do. Creating music to move people emotionally is what I do. Using tools made by EQD makes my job easy. I recommend the Dispatch Master to anyone trying to use reverb and delay to draw emotion out of the audio they create for others to enjoy. ... show more

  • Simple and sounds great
It's pretty amazing what just 4 knobs can do for your tone. It goes from dull and lifeless to full and rich, just by turning on one pedal. Honestly if I only had one pedal, this would be it. You can use it in pretty much any setting with any guitar, or really any other instrument.
