This is by far the best vacuum I have ever used for hard surface floors. It doesn’t blow debris around and actually sucks up everything it rolls over. Bring do light and cordless you can use it everyday for just a few quick minutes and keep your floors pleasant to walk over with bare feet. And the best is the green light that works like a black light and shows you where things are. Lights up even a grain of sugar on the kitchen floor. I have been raving about this vacuum to everyone I know. The only downside is you still need to keep your separate vacuum for carpets. After wasting money on maids who did a terrible job, I invested in the Dyson V15. Much cheaper than a maid and amazing. This vacuum has incredible features to find dust and dirt for you! Superior to my big Dyson with the ball, and perfect to carry with my lifting limit of 10 pounds - it weighs 6.8. I am utterly amazed at how easy it is to operate, to empty and store. I previously owned a cheap cordless vacuum, thinking that the expensive ones can’t be *that* much better! I was definitely wrong. The Dyson V15 Detect is AMAZING! It’s so easy to maneuver, it picks up everything. I can’t believe it. I used to have to sweep after using our cheap version. Not with the Dyson. I haven’t used all of the attachments yet but we have had it for a week and I use it every single day. Vacuuming is *almost* fun now! I like that the battery life is displayed on the panel and when the power adjusts to rugs vs hardwood floors, the battery life adjusts as well. Definitely a feature I appreciate. The price point is steep but I don’t think you can beat the quality of this vacuum. Best vacuum I’ve ever owned. 10 out of 10. ... show more

I have been a doubter of this brand for decades. That said, I have now been through 3 or 4 different compact stick vacuums at much much much cheaper value, due to insanely bad suction, bad build quality or lack of battery life. The reason i finally caved, Dyson would consistently come back up in my searches as the comparison standard against others. Though some say it's suction wasn't that great, or its battery life wasn't great... this is from a person who always denied themselves from buying or believing the hype of Dyson. After about a year. I can honestly and enthusiastically say this has lived up to the hype. Battery life is strong, seemingly the same as the day I bought it, and its suction has been far and away the strongest I have EVER experienced. I have 2x cats with my wife in a lot of hardfloor space, so you can imagine how often the cat litter builds up around the place, and i hate that stuff. All the previous stick vacuums I tried would just scatter the cat litter around the room, it was obnoxious. Now? This thing picks up everything without hesitation, no re-do over the same spot, no scattering, nothing. The suction pulls everything in strong and swiftly. That could be due to the roller assembly itself, but so far all the tools have been impressive. The carpet roller, seems to be pulling up more dust out of the rugs then my large stand up vacuum, to the point that I have been doing our whole house with this thing instead of the standup... craziness! Even the little corkscrew rolling head has been fantastic for the carpeted stairs, no tangled hairs, strong suction to pull all that dust out, and the suction remains STRONG. Obviously with a handheld the only real drawbacks are the smaller cannister size (dirty, large spaces, may need more frequent canister emptying), and the possibility of having to clean out the filter more often. I have only cleaned the filter out once in the last few months, and the suction remains strong. And the stick connectors and attachment connectors could maybe be a little more solid (wobbles a bit). Overall, very impressed. Obviously we all wish it wasn't so dang expensive. So buy one on sale, or an older gen? But if you CAN afford it, it has been very effective and powerful in my experience. Hoping it lasts me for years to come as some other reviewers say they have had with older models! ... show more

I've never had a vacuum like this before! OMG! I can't stop using it. It is very lightweight which is good for my old arms so they don't tire out, but is extremely powerful at picking up dirt and hair. I love my robot floor vacuum, but this Dyson is so lightweight and extremely fast that I'm going to put the robot one on another level of the house and use the Dyson for the main level. The Dyson does the main level in about 15 min, whereas the robot would take a long time to complete and would get stuck on something occasionally. I love that the Dyson has a light so that you can see all the dust on your floors. I never realized just how much dirt was on my floors until it showed me. The carpet attachment is superb. I always thought the robot vacuum got everything off my rugs, but I was very wrong. I ran the Dyson across my area rugs for the first time and was shocked that the dirt bin was completely full (and that was after I had run the robot the day before!) You won't regret buying this vacuum. So far so good and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I hope it stays that way. This review is given freely and I received no compensation at all.
