  • Not a huge difference
Color: Light Blonde
So I got platinum highlights which I wanted but they were far too white versus a sandy color and didn't mesh with my natural shade which is a warmer light brown. I used a clarifying shampoo to soften the cool amethyst toner she used to prevent brassiness. I go so brassy normally. But this time I didn't. I searched for an at home toner that would warm up the tone slightly. Most are for cooling brassiness which is what I've needed in the past. I love the Kristen ess ones but they discontinued the warm shade. I found this and it is pricey but the reviews seemed to do what I wanted. I used it only once so far and left it on for about 15 mins. I see a slight difference. It didn't warm up the white but seemed to blend it better somehow so the contrast isn't so intense. I do have to say I'm used to a liquid or shampoo toner so this was much thicker and easy but I needed a lot of it for one use. It didn't smell but didn't leave my hair conditioned very well either. I'll use it again and leave it a smidge longer and maybe do it out of the shower to be sure I completely cover all the highlights. I like it and think it's a good product because it is user friendly. You're unlikely to mess up your hair as long as you stay in your color family but it is subtle so I think it costs more than it should. It would be more reasonable at like $15-20. I used light blonde. I wish Amazon shared which color everyone used in the review! ... show more

  • Pump top doesn't work, but product seems good
Color: Dark Blonde
I've used the product twice so far and it seems to be gradually covering my grays. I ordered the dark blonde. I like that you can just comb the product through while showering, leave it on for a few minutes, rinse, and be done. It's much easier than the process I am used to with at-home hair color. The only con so far seems to be that the pump doesn't work. It will not release from the rest of the top assembly and is fixed in place. This means I have to take the entire top off and dig out the product with a plastic knife. Not the end of the world, but also not super-convenient. I had actually previously purchased a Just for Men product (even though I'm female) that was supposed to do the same thing regarding gradually covering grays, but I returned it. I ordered this product instead because it is certified cruelty free/no animal testing. After what I recently learned about the horrific nature of animal testing, I am switching to cruelty free on all my products. ... show more

  • Gentle
Color: Light Brown
It’s my first time glazing my hair. I wanted to even out some of my grays that seem to only be sprouting out of the very top of my head in a most unsightly manner but I can’t handle real chemicals because they ruin my hair. I thought it smelled pretty decent and it was easy enough to put on with my fingertips. I didn’t have gloves but it washed off of my hands after a couple washes. I liked the pump a lot, that definitely made it easier to use in my opinion. As far as the color, I used pretty sparingly because I didn’t want it to be too dark. It actually covered my random few gray hairs and made my overall appearance look younger and healthier. My hair was slightly shinier. I have enough to use 2 more times and my hair is very long. Next time I will use more product. Pretty happy with it. ... show more

  • I've tried FIVE different shades and here are the results
Color: Light Brown
For starters, I have naturally medium brown hair, but have had subtle highlights for many years. I was due to go in for my 8-week touch-up right when everything shut down because of democra...er, I mean "covid." Since we were told the shutdown would only be a couple of weeks, I figured no big deal, I could wait. Then it kept getting extended and eventually turned into 4 months. My highlights grew out to the point that I had an "ombre" look, which wasn't bad, just not for me. I didn't want to attempt my own highlights, nor did I want a solid color (fake looking) or anything permanent - just something to tone down the highlights and blend them with my natural hair color. First, I tried the MEDIUM BROWN, and it definitely covered my highlights, but was too dark (like a dark walnut color) and imparted a reddish hue to the highlights. After a few weeks of letting the color fade and gradually wash out, I tried LIGHT BROWN, which I liked a lot, but the highlights were still reddish. After another few weeks, I tried the dark blond, to tone down the highlights but not really affect my natural color. It was definitely more subtle, but the highlights were still "pinkish." Then, I tried the LIGHT BLONDE, which virtually did nothing but impart shine, as the color itself is almost clear. This past weekend, I tried the MEDIUM BLONDE, but mixed it with the DARK BLONDE 50/50, and very happy with the results. I always applied it after washing my hair (this removes any hair product or dirt) and then applied the gloss to damp hair (the hair shaft open when it's wet, so the color absorbs better), and left it on for 20 minutes. I do have a handful of gray hairs that appeared in the past 6 months or so, and these were much less noticeable even though the product isn't meant to cover gray. Overall, I don't think this product is suited for anyone with highlights, as it seems to impart a reddish/pinkish hue regardless of the color used. If your hair is naturally dark or one-color without highlights, I think you'll be very pleased with the results. Since it's a semi-permanent color, it does slowly fade away with time and washing (or a haircut, if it's just the ends that you're not happy with). After each use, my hair has been very full, glossy and silky, and looks healthier than it did before applying the gloss, so I will likely keep using the medium and dark blonde 50/50 combo every couple of weeks until my highlights have completely grown out or have been cut off (since I have a chin-length bob, this won't take that long!). ... show more

  • Just what I was hoping for
Color: Medium Blonde
I lighten my own hair with peroxide and baking soda. I do it so there are highlights and lowlights. The highlights are pretty blonde and I wanted to bring their tone down a touch. The Medium blonde added a very subtle warm tone to my highlights, making the light parts of my hair appear more golden than platinum, which is exactly what I wanted. The color enhancement washes out is say after five washes. But it’s so easy to apply (like conditioner) that that’s totally desirable. I’m going with the dark Blonde color next time just to see how that looks because I know it will wash out quickly if I prefer the golden tone. Most importantly, this brand is vegan and nontoxic so I feel free to experiment! ... show more
