  • Nice glow, hard to print and clean up
Color: Glow-1 Pack
UPDATE: Duramic contacted me after writing this review and sent me a free roll of this filament (glow-in-the-dark green) in hopes of changing my mind. I thought this was excellent customer service, especially since my review was not even all that negative. 3/5 stars is not bad. But anyway, after trying the new roll, it performs exactly like the previous one. So while I would give this company 5 stars for customer service, this review is about the product. Everything I said in my original review stands This is for the glow-in-the-dark green. This filament is undeniably glow-in-the-dark. In fact, after charging it a bit in sunlight, it glows even in fairly bright light for a short while. The glow is intense! It does fade very quickly, however, to a duller glow. But even a few hours later, the glow is detectable in the dark. I would not rely on the glow to be able to find an object through an 8 hour night, though, so for survival purposes I would look elsewhere. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this filament, mostly hate unfortunately. I think I will try a different brand next time I want to print glow in the dark stuff. I used this filament to print a full-sized human skull. I had multiple fails on this print because this filament likes to curl on the edges, no matter what temperature you use to print. That combined with just how incredibly tough this stuff is makes it really easy for the nozzle to get stuck on a curled edge. Based upon my calibration tests, this filament prefers lower temperatures. My best result was at 195. However, I found no temperature that did not result in at least some edge curling. On the plus side, this filament has virtually no stringing. This stuff is tough as nails, and very flexible for PLA as well. This could be great for some applications, however keep in mind it is also very hard to clean off supports because they are so strong and flexible. ... show more

  • Prints fine, but glow fades quickly
Color: Glow-1 Pack
Filament arrived in a vacuum sealed bag with a desiccant pack inside the spool. I haven't printed much, but it appears to be wound fine, I've used some other Duramic filament with no issues. The print in the pictures went fine, the glow in the dark filament stuck fine to the matte black Overture PLA. Didn't even have to adjust temp or speed. My main issue is it doesn't seem to glow very well. Holding it up to a light (albeit a LED light) results in little glow. The second photo was taken just after shining a UV flashlight on the filament. It glowed pretty bright, but only for about 3-5 seconds, then glowed like the third image which might be hard to see, for maybe about 30 seconds to a minute. Past that it has to be pitch black and you can see a very faint glow, barely visible. Disappointed in the performance, but will reconsider adjusting my review once I am able to take it outdoors and let it absorb natural sunlight for a while and see how long it lasts. ... show more

  • Decent Print Quality, Cardboard spool creates friction and vibration
Color: Matte Gray-1 Pack
I needed a light gray PLA for a project, looking through Amazon there was plenty of dark grey but not a lot of Light Gray. I'd never used this brand of filament but the price was right and I figured i'd give it a shot. My best prints came at 210 degrees C with a bed temp of 60. PLA sticks to print bed with no issues. The only problem I had was with the spool itself. It's made of cardboard. While I respect the fact that they're using recycled materials to make these spools, I found the a lot of friction between my spool holder and the spool itself. Every few second when the printer would pull of the spool, it would rub and vibrate the printer. Looking at my prints it didn't seem like it created any resonance or ghosting, but I could hear the spool rubbing every few seconds in my office. Besides that the spool printed fine, with nice quality. The matte finish looks good, the tops of my prints seemed a little underextruded for some reason. ... show more

  • Do not buy this garbage. Period.
Color: Pink-1 Pack
Their warehouse and any other faculties they operate in are a legitimate waste of space on this earth. Might as well consider themselves a waste management company with this garbage they're mailing to people's houses. Do not buy this filament unless you want to spend days fiddling with failures. If you're into that kind of self-hate, by all means, buy their entire stock and go crazy. Even if I had a one-off roll, I had such a poor experience with adhesion that I'm not buying from this company ever again. By the time I had finally 'dialed in' (I use quotes because it's not dialing in the filament, it's compensating for this garbage blend they could only legally call PLA+), I had to cancel my print three separate times to remove tangles from the filament roll. I've never in all my time printing purchased a roll with a single tangle, let alone three separate tangles. At this point, it was nothing but a waste of time and an overall headache. I do not recommend this filament or this company in the slightest. TLDR: Stay away. It is not worth the risk of messing up your printer frame from the knots in their poorly wound spools, and it's not worth messing up your sanity attempting to get it to stick to the bed or itself. Buy another brand. ... show more
