Not too bright, just right. Love these curtains but I failed to measure the width and had to order 4 more panels. What was I thinking???? I was more concerned with the length because I have been given curtains as a gift..hand me down more like which is fine but they are always too long and then I have to cut and sew. Re did my dining room with new wallpaper and was going for a rustic look. I get many compliments. Just waiting for the second delivery to cover the other window. These are incredibly nice drapes- I got the sage green. I was so pleasantly surprised at how pretty the color is- The drapes are light weight so they are not putting a ton of stress on my curtain rods- I like that they are machine washable and hang dry. I bought 5 sets of these to redo my 3 bedrooms. I had ordered and returned 4 other types that were either the wrong length, color or texture. I was thrilled to find these fit all my criteria perfectly. The buttercream color provides a soft and beautiful look. I gave the blackout light a 4 rating and not a 5 as they still let a small amount of light filter through but very nicely. They do require being ironed but it was very easy with a slightly warm iron. I have tried so many different kinds of drapes and have spent thousands trying to outfit a full wall of windows that we have in our house. I didn't have a lot of hope that these drapes would look that good or even block the light, but when our others got so dirty and were so hard to iron, I decided to give those up and give these a try. While some light seeps in around the edges and the grommets of this style of curtain, the fabric itself is very dense and does a good job of keeping light out. They seem well made, and wrinkles from shipping ironed out nicely. The teal is a nice deep color, which is what I wanted.
