I bought these to use as a backdrop for my video sign language job. They are not kidding when they say "Black Out" I now have the opposite problem of ZERO light coming into my work area. I bought them for the color and for some light reduction but holy cow they really let zero light through! They are nice! Many black out curtains are stiff and not very nice looking and heavy. These look like regular every day drapes. The fabric flows and moves like regular material. And they are not heavy to handle. Curtains are very nice, but are about two shades darker than seen on computer. I had to shorten them a bit and found the fabric snagged significantly on the feeder dog of the sewing machine. This caused some pulled threads, but the threads did not break and were easily smoothed back out by pulling the fabric. They are of a heavy weight that hangs nicely but the wrinkles were quit difficult to remove and required both an iron and a steamer and a lot of time. However, once done they flowed beautifully. I needed dark curtains to block out as much light as possible because I spend so much time in bed during the day. These work "okay" at blocking direct sunlight, however you'll have to get creative to find a way to seal the seams against your window trim if you really want a dark room. Measurements were exactly as stated. They arrived a little wrinkled, but I was able to use a hand steamer to get the wrinkles out. Room Is darkened when they are closed. They do not let any light through.

I’m a day sleeper so I needed blackout curtains. Of course the room is not pitch black but it’s gets very dark; dark enough for me to sleep with no sun whatsoever in my face. I got the 96 inch long ones. They are kind of a thick satiny material and they are heavy but not too heavy for my command hooks. (I have the ones that hold 5lbs each) I’m not sure about the other reviews but they really do block out light. Some light comes through the edges of the curtain(duuuh) but not enough to say they don’t do the job they are designed to do. ... show more
