The quality of this net is solid, it is as good as other more expensive items that we have purchased. While this was a vine find, I will 100% buy another when this one wears out. I have no complaints about the quality or its ability to hold up.

This little net has been super handy and great to use. I originally got it to hold invasive snails as I manually pick them off pond reeds and rocks. I love that I can hook it to my belt and it holds its shape as I wade around in the water. It keeps the snails in the water until I am ready to fully remove them from the ecosystem and has so far been a HUGE improvement over the little pouch type net I had been using previously which takes up time trying to open and close when needed. I plan on using this for a few different things, including the intended use of catching baitfish, but I was happy to report that it does have other alternate uses too! It’s plenty big and well crafted net allowing you to easily catch some bait fish as it lays flat until you pull up. Might want to use some stronger rope but this is wonderful not having to cast out a net for bait and easily foldable for portability.

I was hoping this would be a little stronger to land fish off of piers and bridges that are up to 20lbs. I do understand that it's not made for that. However, it can be used for many other applications. I am going to get some paracord and use that for the bottom section, then use a small diameter rope as the main line. The small nylon cord that comes with it, is the same stuff that is used for cheap fish stringers. So that stuff would be very difficult to work with, especially if you were pulling up much weight. This bait net is very easy to use. Open the net, attach retrieving line, place some bait, such as breadcrumbs or cat food into the bait bag and toss into the water. Wait a few minutes then quickly retrieve the net with your live bait inside. The steel wire spring assures that the net stays open. Great for catching bait on a boat, off a pier or in a lake. Good for both fresh and saltwater. Once you have caught your bait, it is very easy to fold up and store away in the provided storage bag. It is very light and easy to transport. The green vinyl ropes that are included with the trap are trash and would not withstand any sort of claw snap. They should be a braided cable for strength and longevity. In addition, the net itself is a thin plastic mesh without any integrated eye holes for attaching any cables. They cut the net and looped the cable through around the thin metal band at the top.
