  • Medium blonde worked great!
Color: Medium Blonde
I have dirty blonde hair with blonde balayage grown out from about a year and a half ago (the balayage is about 2/3rds of the way down my hair- I mostly just have my natural grown out color). I was looking for something to overall lift my hair up a little bit and bring out my natural highlights without it being too damaging or drastic. The medium blonde did just the trick! I washed my hair first with a purple shampoo and then I left the gloss in for about 6-7 min and then rinsed it out. Gave it a blow dry and it definitely brightened up my hair and brought it back to a nice honey blonde shade! My hair felt soft and looked shiny after my blow dry. 2 things I may do differently is: next time I use it leave it in for the full 20 min & once I finish with this bottle I’ll probably go for a lighter color, knowing how well this one worked! If you’re looking for a massive change I wouldn’t recommend, but if you’re wanting to enhance and brighten your natural blonde, this is perfect! Last thing I’ll throw in, is that I’m always worried about real brassy and orange tones creeping in, when it comes to an at-home coloring situation, and I didn’t get that. Some of it looks a little golden, but not brassy! My hair color is very true lighter/dirty blonde color, with cooler undertones! I hope this helps! ... show more

  • Adds more shine than color
Color: Medium Brown
After using this once I’d say it does make your hair more shiny but I think I would need to use a darker color to make a different in color. I will say it evened out my grown out roots where my natural color is a bit lighter than my overall hair color. Saves time and money as apposed to going to the salon to get my roots touch up for a minor color match. ... show more

  • Sheer Gloss - Pleasantly Surprised
Color: Sheer
I figured I would start out with the sheer color just to see if it works well as a conditioning gloss. I have black hair and really needed to bring some luster back to it. I’ve only used it once so far, but it seems to have conditioned my hair really well. It feels very soft and typically after my hair dries I need to run a straightening/brush/curling iron through it to get rid of frizz. With this, I don’t have any frizz. My next purchase will be the black gloss to see how it does. ... show more

  • Added copper tint to dark brown hair; dyed scalp orange; washed out in one week
Color: Copper
Wanted to try a penny-like copper on my completely virgin medium/dark brown hair. I figured a gloss like this in Copper would be a good temporary way to test out whether or not I liked the color, but didn’t have high expectations starting with quite a dark base color. I did a strand test first using hair from my brush and it seemed to give it just a tint of copper, so I took the plunge on my whole head. I used a clarifying shampoo in the shower, then applied this with gloves on very damp hair and clipped it up for the rest of my shower, about 15 mins, then rinsed out. I have fine, thin hair about 4” past my shoulders and used about 1/5 of the bottle for this. I was pretty surprised by how long it took to rinse out - pink/coral water just kept coming and coming with no end…I felt like I was rinsing all the color out! Finally I decided I couldn’t rinse any longer...And got out of the shower to see my scalp dyed bright Halloween orange! So it was back in the shower and did some more scrubbing and rinsing to try to remove the scalp stains (which helped a little but my scalp was very much still bright orange for multiple days afterwards - thank goodness I did it on a weekend where I didn't have to be anywhere). Once dry, I could see my roots tinged ever so subtly red-copper but there was absolutely nothing on my lengths or ends. I figured maybe my base color is just too dark for this color, but decided to try one more time. The second time, I decided to apply it to dry hair to see if that would help it take more color. I applied it dry (used much more product this time, about 1/3 bottle) and let it sit for about 30+ mins before rinsing it out in the shower (no shampoo). Same rinsing scenario - I must have been under the water for 10+ minutes doing nothing but rinsing and rinsing, and coral pink was still pouring from my hair until I eventually gave up. So don’t expect this to rinse clear! You can see the results from my photos - you can definitely notice a red/copper tint to it, which was more obvious in person and in direct sunlight! I imagine if you’re starting with a lighter base color, you’d definitely see more result. No real noticeable results in terms of glossiness, softness, nor shine, but my hair is fairly healthy to begin with. Besides my scalp being orange for days, another big con was the fragrance: I’m used to using all fragrance-free products so the smell of this was incredibly perfumey to me. The nights after using it, I kept waking up feeling like I and my pillow were just engulfed in this strong perfumey fragrance. Would have been much nicer if it had no added fragrance and that alone makes me hesitant to use it again. It washed out to the point where it wasn’t noticeable anymore after only about 3-4 washes. I wash my hair every other day so for me this meant it lasted only about one week. And I had to use a towel and pillowcase I didn’t mind getting stained the whole time since so much color poured out every shower and it was staining my white towel (luckily this came out in the wash). Overall: since my base color is already quite dark and it only lasted about 1 week on me, I can’t say it would be worth using this again. The scalp staining and the fragrance make it even less worth it. But it definitely worked for a subtle tint. Apply it dry for the most color deposit. And if you’re starting with a lighter base color, I imagine the results could be pretty dramatic. ... show more

  • Blends grays in brown hair
Color: Medium Brown
I use the Medium Brown, which is close to my natural color, and it blends my grays through several shampoos. I apply to dry hair (w/ rubber gloves) for about 15 mins then wash. One bottle will last me a long time. So easy and so so much cheaper than my last $200 gloss at a salon. (I do not have a ton of gray and it also does not cover them completely, only helps blend.) ... show more

  • BUYER BEWARE
Color: Medium Blonde
Your hair will be softer than a baby bottom, knots will brush right through, and everyone will start petting you. 🤚🏽 🤚🏽 🤚🏽 I’ve received so many compliments about my shiny hair. I don’t feel like it dyed my hair at all. I am a dark blonde naturally and ordered dark blonde.

  • Redhead uses for extra color
Color: Auburn
I started using this product a few years ago after being recommended at a beauty supply store. I love it!! I'm a natural redhead, but my hair gets a little duller in the winter. I use the auburn color and it's awesome to give my hair a little extra color! Stays very close to my natural color, doesn't look artificial. Fair warning though, it does stain, so make sure to wear gloves and use protection around your hairline. I use some vaseline/ moisturizer to prevent the color from staining my forehead/ above my ears. I've also found mixing this with a little bit of conditioner and combing through wet hair before letting it set helps to make sure the color is even. Also worth noting-- I have frizzy hair and this color doesn't dry it out too much. I use approx every 4-5 months. The bottle lasts forever! I usually buy one every 1-2 years. Really worth the price. ... show more
