The whole reason I chose this unit is for the dash cam, it works wonderfully. Just make sure that when the dash cam is connected to the USB, you must firmly press the two connectors together until you feel it snap together to assure a proper connection. The radio looks and sounds great, lots of functions, operator manual is actually written in plain unbroken English! Rear cam works great. Be aware, for the rear cam to come on when you shift into reverse; you must also connect the red wire on the cam cable to your reverse light wire on the vehicle, this step is not mentioned in the installation instructions. I paid $300 to a professional shop to install the original unit that arrived with Amazon. But when you make a phone call, the other side can barely hear you through Bluetooth or Apple play or Android. I informed the company & they sent a replacement. I had to pay again to swap the unit, and again no luck, no one can hear you. THE WORST IS THAT AFTER A FEW DAYS, WHILE LISTENING TO THE RADIO, THE UNIT KEEPS JUMPING TO “ NO MEDIA AVAILABLE” FOR NO REASON & NO RADIO. I PRESS THE HOME BUTTON AND ALL IS OK FOR EXACTLY A MINUTE AND AGAIN JUMPS TO “NO MEDIA AVAILABLE. TOTAL DISASTER AND COSTED ME $450 BESIDES THE COST OF THE UNIT & TIME SPENT ON INSTALLING BOTH UNITS!!! DO NOT BUY IT!!! TRASH ... show more

2008 silverado with a cd player that would run sometimes with the truck off. Ordered this stereo to save my battery. Door speakers were blown as well, so I bought pyles to replace all the speakers in the truck. Those paired with this stereo and I unintentionally have a booming sound system for extremely cheap. So this device is pretty decent.... Easy to install provided you have some basic knowledge and ability.....and the user interface is nice. HOWEVER....I would recommend a drop of glue or something for the volume Knob.... Almost lost the darn thing during the install.... Besides the knob its a great inexpensive device to upgrade your old head unit too. I have another unit similar to this one in another vehicle....both of these devices are decent. It’s okay as a radio but once you hook a subwoofer to it you can adjust the sound settings. It’s very loud at a low volume like 4 but the subs won’t come on till 20 which is way to loud.

Installed this in my brother's truck. He is very happy with the result. Going from a standard radio setup to a functional modern unit with Bluetooth, Voice control, phone connectivity and charging on a Samsung S21. Issues noted: There was over 5mm around the unit that needed to be covered with an adaptor plate. Care is needed in selection of the plate due to the close proximity of the volume knob to the edge to prevent interference. Take care in selection of adaptor kits. Many that are marked for this truck do not fit or are not designed for double din even though they say they are. I used one purchased at car toys that fit perfect with the exception of the volume knob which I modified for. Get the appropriate harness for your vehicle unless you are handy enough to create your own, which I did. This requires you get the correct schematic. There are many online and many that are incorrect for specific models. Check the color coding against the actual wiring throughly. I can imagine this could also be a problem with pre-made harnesses. Be through on this beefier reconnecting your battery or risk further problems. I was through and careful and the install took about three hours, making my own harness, modifying the face plate and mounting. Finding an appropriate mount and face plate took an additional two hours. These are all the standard issues that would happen with any retrofit. Just be aware it's not a plug and play drop in. If you have reservations about your ability, find a friend or brother with a higher skill set. That's why they're there. ... show more
