    • It is decent for the price
I want to start off by saying that I have an external touch screen with Car Play and Android Auto from the same brand that I love and decided to bite the bullet and get a touch screen to hardwire into my car. Since I loved the external one from Sanptent, I figured I would install this one from them. Why the three stars? 1) With their external plug-and-play version, you had the option of connecting Car Play and Android Auto via Bluetooth AND via USB. With this one, Car Play and Android Auto are only registered via USB. I liked the ability of not having to have the phone plugged into the head unit with their other version. 2) The volume controls are touch instead of a knob. Having the ability to turn the volume up and down with a knob is better as you can quickly do so and also do so with gloves on if need be. 3) This unit has already crashed twice now. I did not get a chance to really see if this has internal fans or how the heat is dissipated but I am thinking it may have crashed due to heat as the weather is heating up and even though I do turn on the air, it takes time for it to cool the cabin. 4) This is not bright enough. I turned the brightness all the way up at night and even so, the glare is pretty bad and not bright enough. I even made sure to turn off illumination (where it automatically dims when the headlights are on) and that did not help. 5) No AM radio. Now look, for the most part probably no one uses AM radio but it still exists. The main use for AM radio would be weather and traffic advisories in the middle of nowhere. I have actually had to use AM radio in rural areas where I did not have cell service and needed to listen to advisories. So I mean AM radio can be useful. Some positives: 1) It has legit Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Some stereos will claim to have this but will instead be mirror link. This also has mirror link as well that you can switch to if you would like to display your phone on the screen to play videos. 2) It comes with a backup camera and has the ability to connect your existing camera and also has the option for a front-view camera. Depending on how you wire your camera, you can view it when in reverse or you can wire it to be able to also view it through the menu. 3) Steering wheel controls and illumination. This has the wires needed to connect existing steering wheel controls or aftermarket controls and set up is very easy through the menu. This also has illumination which is where the screen will automatically dim when you turn on your headlights. Overall, it is a good stereo for the price but lacking a few features. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is a really feature-packed head unit at a very budget-friendly price point. I did some initial bench testing, and found that it starts up really fast, the included reverse camera works pretty well, and it connected to both an Android and Apple phone with no problem at all. Both Android Auto and Apple Car Play work fine, though with a bit of lag on the screen when responding to touch controls. (see video) The instructions that come with it are... mystifying. It took longer than I care to admit to figure out how to wire up the reverse camera so I could test it prior to installing in the car. All the standard stuff you'd expect is included, but you will definitely need to have had some experience installing car stereo systems in order to get this installed and looking correct in your dash and playing nice with your car's audio and other systems. Still, for all the features you get I'm really impressed considering how inexpensive this unit is. It claims to be able to adapt to your car's steering wheel audio controls for things like volume adjustment, next and previous tracks, etc. It can connect to your steering angle sensor to show the approximate track of the rear wheels when in reverse based on the position of the steering wheel. Could be good for the price, but doesn't work with CarPlay/Android Auto wireless adapters like others do. I tested with the same wireless adapters on this that worked on others. And the screen touch is a little laggy. There are other similarly-priced radios that do support these wireless adapters. All this does is basic audio file playing, FM radio, and CarPlay/Android Auto. If you only plan on wired phone connection and don't care about screen quality and a little lag, it is OK. ... show more

This is a nice car stereo setup. The price is reasonable and you get a good set of features. The screen size is large for being a double Din unit, which comes in handy. My favorite features are the USB port and Android Auto support. Big plus in the world we live in.

SANPTENT Model: 7068 7” TOUCHSCREEN CAR STEREO with Apple Car Play, Android Auto Car Audio Receiver with Voice Control, FM Radio, Bluetooth, Mirror Link and has Backup View including the Backup Camera. There is NO SUBWOOFER OUTPUT. This is a Double Din Car Stereo receiver supplied with mounting brackets, Backup Camera/wiring harness, camera cable, Remote Control, Wire Harness for both power and dual speakers along with additional mounting items and User Manual. User Manual is for several different model radio’s so particular attention is paid to specific number 7068. There are NO SPEAKERS supplied with this system. Sound quality depends on speaker choice. I used medium grade car stereo speakers ( less than $100.00 for pair ) and in my experience the sound quality was very good. It was quiet with no hum or background hiss or extra harmonics. The sound quality at both very loud and soft, impressive to me. Touchscreen is responsive and capability available to switch between two sets of speakers. SETUP/INSTALLATION…. All wires on the harness assemblies are clearly marked with attached sticker on each wire. The User Manual shows by pictures and text, the connections. There are NO WIRE CONNECTORS included. At less that $100.00 at time of this Review and the Feature Set included plus additional Rear Camera in my opinion this car receiver has real value. Recommended…..
