I have a home that did not have a wired door bell and a Ring with batteries for me was unheard of so I kept doing research and found a wired ring that plugs into a wall socket. I removed the door side panel and I did not have a drill so I had to use a Phillips screw drivers to make a hole for the wire to come through. I pulled the wire and used the door panel to cover the wire. Plugged the other end into the wall socket. Works like a charm. Works for the ring doorbell. Last transformer just stopped working for no reason, it was the ring branded model too. I ordered this and just used wire nuts to connect it to the existing wire that runs to the doorbell. Installed on may 4th 24 I'll come back and update if it ever fails.

After 5+ years of recharging the doorbell batteries, I bought this transformer to eliminate the recharging requirement. Works great!! Wish I had done this 5+ years ago.

Just installed yesterday. So will update if anything changes. But this was the perfect solution for hardwiring my Gen 2 2020 ring doorbell. It even came with wall clips to run the wire against the wall. You cannot beat the price and ease to install.     • Mixed results
The charger presumably was working great. The issue I ran into was the cold. The area I live in was getting very cold at night, and it looks like that was causing the battery not to charge properly, or discharge faster possibly. The battery was lasting a lot longer than it was before, without question. Though it was still draining slowly. I ended up buying a wired Ring doorbell instead and that has been working perfectly. Of course, that means no battery backup, but I will likely move the other one to another door at some point and grab another of these chargers to charge it. I would give the product 5 stars, but I just don't have a way to test if it was truly the ring doorbell, or if this was somehow not charging it fast enough. I lean more toward the doorbell, but again cannot test that, at least not quite yet. ... show more
