I was worried about how good a battery chainsaw could be. Did good work on a 12+ inch wide limb that broke off my tree in a storm.

Initial batteries got some issues. However, Dongcheng customer care agent voluntarily reached out and sent another pair of batteries. The saw works again as it has no other issues.

    • Strong and useful
I used this to cut up the top 10 feet on an old tree that had fallen after a storm. Cut through the logs with ease. I just wish the manufacturer explained the blade tension better.

I have used chainsaws for over 40 years-some good/some bad...-poulans/shihl/ryobi/ect.ect-but recently decided to try out electric and battery powered chainsaws because after years of hard work roofing/tree trimming/ect..-it was getting to hard -especially because of back problems-to start and operate a gas powered saw-........i am very old school and was very much not expecting to immediately like this saw/thinking there was no way this battery powered chainsaw would compete against old school gas power chainsaws-.............man-was i ever wrong-this thing is a BEAST-for what it is-it easily chewed threw a 5 year old Seasoned 10 inch Ash log like a hot knife thru butter.....and the battery seems to last a good 30 minutes-I am very Impressed ... show more

    • Really impressive for what it is.
I didn't have high expectations for this chainsaw given my experience with other electric saws in the past. I own several chainsaws, and spend more time than I would like cutting and clearing trees, limbs, and brush from my property. Most of my experience is with gas powered saws, so typically electric chainsaws are underwhelming and really don't perform very well... In my opinion, this one is an exception. I've been quite impressed with its power and ability to cut relatively large branches with ease. So far I've used it several times to cut up some large branches into firewood size sticks, and it's performed flawlessly. It's lighter, and easier to use than my electric saws... And I really love that it's super quiet, so if I don't have a ton of wood that I need to cut I can simply use this one without worrying about fuel, ear protection, or disturbing the neighbors. The concern I had about this type of saw was the battery life. I've been pleasantly surprised with that as well, the battery life is much better than I expected. No, you're not going to be able to cut all day on a single charge... But for some light cleanup, or for casual use of the average homeowner, the battery life of this little saw is pretty good. I like that it includes the batteries, as well as a rapid charger, and a bar protector. The included chain is sharp, and has had no problem ripping through the various limbs that I've tested it on so far. It would have been nice to have a spare chain included, since this is a relatively unknown brand, that's not that big of a deal... I'll research the correct chain for it and buy a couple of spares to have around. Ultimately it performs really well, it's easier to use than most saws, I think it's a great option for those who don't have a need for a expensive, heavy, gas chainsaw. It's also a great backup saw even if you typically use a gas chainsaw. I'd buy this one again-I'm pretty impressed with it. ... show more
