Picked this out to use on my cat. He had a health scare and they had to shave all his legs to try to place catheters. His immune system is very weak due to FELV so we need to reduce the risk of infection and he would not stop licking his shaved spots. We had him in a cone and that worked of course but he was miserable, hiding under the bed for days and not getting comfortable. I was also concerned he was avoiding the litterbox because the cone made it difficult to navigate. He is about 12lbs, a medium-large cat and the XS fits his body length well. I just cuffed the legs and it works for the most part. He is a very tolerant cat; this suit doesn’t have any fasteners so a less agreeable pet may be difficult to dress. It’s a bit odd that the size tag is on the outside but neither of us really care about it. The best part is that his little shaved patches are covered, he’s not licking, and he seems to enjoy being a cozy loaf. Our miniature poodle developed a habit of licking inside of his thighs at night, and over time, the pink skin in there turned blackish-gray. We bought this suit to cover his legs and used it as pajamas every night for a few months until he finally broke the licking habit. This is Pout Pout Scout (see pictures if you’re wondering why we call him that) - 2yr old yellow lab, no idea of his weight but he’s a pretty fit/athletic and healthy guy. I used other reviewer pictures to guess what size to order because dude would NOT let me measure - guess the tape measure is a toy 🤷♀️. Got an XL and it fits pretty well. It’s a little loose so a bit baggy under his belly, but otherwise I think the size is fine. It was WAY easier to get on than another version of “puppy pjs” with zippers. He hasn’t tried going potty yet, so I’m not sure if the cut-out area is going to be ok - I’m a little concerned that the excess fabric around his belly might get in the way. We’ll see. I was worried about the legs being shorter because he does like to pick at them, but it turns out this is much better for him than the other kind which had super long legs that needed to be rolled but inevitably would come undone and get under his feet. This guy is so itchy all the time - baths, sprays, brushing, foods, etc don’t seem to make much difference because it’s likely also become compulsive (he’s a very anxious boy). So he has some hotspots that he will NOT leave alone. Hence the pjs (no way he’d tolerate a cone/donut). The only problem I can foresee is that some of his itchy spots are around his genitals and tail, which he still has open access to. The other zipper pjs covered much more (but would also be much more difficult at potty time with the way it fit). However, when he has his pjs on he doesn’t scratch/pick nearly as much overall. Maybe he’s more cozy. Anyway, so far so good. Hopefully the pictures can help others with sizing too! ... show more

The overall fit and cut of the suit could be worked a bit better. That said overall not a bad purchase. We liked it enough to buy them in 2 different stripes. They are easy to get onto our 70 pound doodle. The legs are a bit short, he is tall like a standard poodle. I did cut out the small triangle of fabric to allow him to urinate comfortably. The back end doesn’t sit weird on top of his tail, his is curly so it’s always upright. Machine washable which is really nice. To make them last longer I hang them to dry. Which doesn’t take long. We use them primarily in the winter to keep him from getting too wet and cold in the snow. Pretty resilient onesie for a dog, he’s VERY VERY active. Rolling on the ground, jumping in the air for frisbees, wrestling with his dog friends. ... show more

    • Slips off easily underbelly hangs

I have a 65lb pit bull and am always having a hard time finding him pjs to keep him warm during the inter because he is quite barrel chested (shaped like a Dorito for lack of a better descriptor). I got him the XL because I know that a large would have been too tight around his thick neck. Unfortunately it hangs quite a bit on the underbelly and it doesn’t leave much room for peepee time I found this out the hard way. I ended up having to wash these the second day because my dog piddled all over the underbelly somehow. So I switched to just having them on my dog at night for bed and every night he manages to get the hung legs entangled in the pjs. They aren’t particularly long on him perhaps they’re just too easy for him to slip out of when laying down. I’m uncertain but they’re cute and keep my dog warm. ... show more

We ordered the XL for our 73lb lab mix handsome boy. He gets a hot spot and won't stop licking until he's bleeding. We bought this to keep him from licking. It works, and he looks so cute in it. It is a little loose on him, and I'm thinking we should've gotten the L instead, but i was worried it wouldn't fit. But due to being loose on him, it's easy on, but easy off unfortunately. He managed to wiggle out of it during the night, that rascal! We just need it on him so it can heal up a bit and he'll leave the spot alone. I'm happy with the purchase. ... show more
