    • Good starter puzzle for small dogs

My vet recommended puzzles to ease anxiety for my dog when we all leave the house. Knowing that my lap dog was pretty intelligent but not sure over her puzzle skills I started with this basic level 1 puzzle to get her used to them. It took her less than 30 seconds to get all of her treats out of this puzzle. However, it definitely sparked her interest in doing them. I did get higher levels of puzzles to keep her occupied longer, and less anxious while we are out, and now she can hear me getting a puzzle ready and then racing to find me. Instead of focusing on us leaving her behind she is definitely all about getting her treats. I have a camera so I also know that once she thinks she is finished she will leave it behind but will come back to it again to make sure she has got all the treats and any treat tidbits out of it. This particular puzzle is very durable and would be good for senior dogs, smaller dogs or dogs not so much interested in working too hard to get a treat. As a level 1 it also introduces them to moving things with their muzzle or paw. Easy to clean by spraying out with water if you choose to use wet food. ... show more

My only regret is that I didn’t purchase this when my golden retriever puppy was 7 weeks old. Now that he’s just over 10 weeks it took him no more than a minute and a half, if that, to figure it out and consume all on the first use. Next time I’ll put a tiny bit of cheese flavored goo into the bottom of some of the reservoirs before putting the kibble bits in. He also actively proceeded to take it a step further by going into the dismantling mode (because certainly there must be something else hidden in this tasty toy!). With this in mind, I would not let my dog use this unattended as he is an active chewer. Product does appear to be well made and likely won’t come apart for smaller breeds, but please use caution. These are a great toy to keep your pup's mind working. We've put a few treats in for the to find, and fed 1/2 a meal in her to keep them working for it. It's easy for them to move the parts and my pups seemed to enjoy it!

Well this was fun for approximately 15-30 seconds. I have a GSP, which is a very intelligent dog breed, so she figured this out very quickly. So not really worth it for me, but may be for others. It is cute & easy to use!

My puppy loves to eat out of this puzzle. I fill it with a few kibbles in each hole and fill it up at least a few times a day. She was able to figure out the doors slide pretty quickly. She gets so excited when she sees me put food it in. It keeps her occupied cause I work from home and sometimes need to find something to entertain her while on a zoom call. Easy to clean as well. I just use a small bit of dish soap and a bottle brush to scrub out each hole and put it in the dish drainer to dry. Best $10 I spent on an enrichment toy for my puppy. ... show more

This puzzle is perfect for my puppy! She has struggled with more difficult puzzles but she figured this one out easily. Hoping it will be a good distraction to be used for separation anxiety. Looks like it will hold up well!
