Did not attach the top part. I'm not really sure how that would have even worked as there are only zip ties for it and doesn't appear like it would hold up with it being 4 separate grates and no other support. With the dog being large, having the lid would not have worked anyway because he's too tall. However, there is ample room for him to lay down, turn around, and have a safe space while healing from a surgery while needing strict containment. I also really like how narrow the cross bars of the frame are for the door threshold. They don't interfere with getting in and out like other crates where the dog would have to step up or crouch down a lot. I would have given 4 stars because if he weren't sedated and hurting, there is no way this cage would hold up to his actual strength. However, it is perfect for our current temporary need so I give it 5 stars with a lot of comments. This would be great for smaller dogs or puppies. ... show more

Knowing what this is, I would not pay $20 for it. Terrible design - really, no design, just a bunch of junk thrown together in a box. Flimsy panels designed to be held together with very cheap plastic pieces, just perfect for puppies to chew on. Exposed bolts and metal bits sticking out all over, and some mismatched panels that they literally expect you to attach with ZIP TIES. For $109?? Absolutely horrible. A massive pain to assemble, it included a chintzy screwdriver that did not fit, and didn’t even come with a wrench to hold the bolts. Once it’s assembled, it’s floppy and awkward, difficult to move if you wanted to, with massive weak spots for any determined puppy. The “lock” is a total joke. I would have returned it immediately if I didn’t have three foster puppies who really needed the space, and I couldn’t wait to replace it. We did our best to shore it up and reinforce it to make it work. Very disappointed. ... show more

    • Not sturdy at all:
We purchased this for our rabbits and it has not held up well. The connector pieces are constantly flying off and the panel move. Not worth the money when you will have to purchase another pen shortly after this falls apart.

    • Works but not super sturdy
It's very easy to put together. I used all the zip ties it came with for stability but it's still not very sturdy. I think it's fine as long as you are monitoring your pet's activity. I wouldn't leave a pet alone in it.

Even thow this was advertised as a dog cage,we bought it for our Duck's and chicken house.we had to separate our Duck's from our chickens and this cage worked well for what we were wanting to do.The design of this cage comes with a top so the chickens can fly on top and we don't have to worry about the chickens going into the Duck pen and getting trapped. Our first cage that we bought was a open top cage with no top and one of our chickens flew into the octagon cage and the Duck's pecked it to death,so we had to order a new cage which is this one and it worked out great for what we needed it for.we bought some electrical staples to hammer into the two by fours to make the cage stronger in it's place.we used up all the ties that came with the cage to put the top on it. . ... show more

I have been trying to give this kennel a fair shot, but I’m rendering my final judgement and this thing is sorely lacking! This thing might keep one, solitary bird in-but it will swiftly allow any predator the convenience of a drive-thru lunch. This kennel certainly can’t handle containing our dogs. When it arrived I thought it was going to be much sturdier, but all the prongs (yeah-you can’t consider these things as bars) are flimsy and feel like aluminum. The fasteners are plastic and the top/bottom is zip tied on and together with provided zip ties. This is absolutely not worth the money I spent on it and I regret the purchase. The size might be good, but what does it matter if your dogs can pry the prongs back and get out because no one thought all the prongs should be attached to the stupid frame!!! ... show more
