Thus is so much more comfortable for our dogs than the giant hard plastic ones. Unfortunately for us wr have had to use this multiple times over the past several months. We have rottweilers as this worked so well. They had the hard plastic ones tore up in no time. They kept running into things, but with this one being flexible they didn't break it, hurt them self or mess anything up. It's so much easier for them to lay and rest with it being like a pillow. I have a XXl 185 lb St. Bernard so it's very hard to find things to fit. She just had ACL surgery and the cone the vet sent her home with is horrible. She bangs into everything (hurts her and the walls) but what's worse, she can't eat or drink with it. It's sooo long, she can't reach food or water bowl. Because she eats and mostly drinks lying down (those with a lazy St. know what I mean), this does not work. And if I did want to take it on and off when she eats, it won't work as it's IMPOSSIBLE to put back on. It's more of a permanent apparatus. I first tried a regular inflatable collar, (like this but without the extra plastic zipper extension) and quickly found that she could still reach her leg to chew the wound. So, I purchased this one (with the plastic zip on extension piece) and voila', she can't reach the wound. What she CAN now do is sleep comfortable and reach her food and water bowls to eat and drink. The plastic extender is made to open up at the bottom of their neck, so she can sleep comfortably, eat, etc. She is so much more comfy now and can't chew her stitches. I was able to get this in one day on Amazon so it is great. I highly recommend it. You will see from the pic, I took off the gross vet cone, put this on her, and she just dozed off to sleep.     • If your looking for comfort with protection Don’t bother

I purchased this for my dog who needs to wear an Elizabethan collar for several weeks and I wanted her to be as comfy as possible. I will admit the “donut “ collar is soft and comfortable. I loved that there is an opening to the zipper on soft plastic extension so she can drink and eat and then can rotate it around so unable to lick wounds. However the soft plastic that you zipper on as extension broke off in one day and she was able to reach her paws to lick. I didn’t return it because I didn’t have the packaging. The idea is good vs using a stiff plastic collar but this is not made well. ... show more

It works well. It’s soft and does its job. But when received, the zipper was broke, the one that keeps the inflatable held in. Couldn’t return because we needed it asap for one of my babies surgeries.

The large gap in the e-collar extension males it useless. The watermelon ring is very cute and like a nice neck pillow. I layered it behind an e-collar and it worked great!

It was easy to inflate, super durable and and the value was prefect for the quality. It’s easy to put on and easy to remove. My German shepherd is around 90lb and I got him an XL and it fit perfectly. It’s great and large but appears to fit nicely and he can’t try to bite it off or anything!

    • Cheap Plastic shield doesn’t stay

Pros; cute soft ballon. Cons: zipper where the plastic shield attaches is very flimsy and cheap. It cant hold the shield on and I attached it correctly several times. the shield pops right off and away. I can’t even explain the teeth don’t hold together and barely bumping. It makes the whole shield pop off. On top of it the cloth on the watermelon is very flimsy and not easy to keep sterile (versus the other brand on here that had wipeable cloth. This one is flannelish like cheap pajamas. It’s not removable. The balloon is nice and generously cut I would prefer a buckle to the Velcro though (at neck closure). I recommend a cheap plug in inflator. Keeping these balloon collars full helps keep the dog from being able to dig it their wounds I think this is cheap and it’s gonna have to go back because the whole reason I ordered this was to get the shield which wont stay on. I had already purchased the one previously. It looks like muscles and it was too small (but has a buckle and more durable cloth, but no shield ) and the dog was still able to dig out his face where he has an infection (With both products, although this balloon is slightly bigger and might make the difference to where he can’t get it his face but all night long he was rubbing off that shield) . Trying to go easy on him but this cheap product failed my baby. Rough night. This disnt solve the problem. ... show more

Honestly worked well for our cat that scratches his fur off like hell while he is healing! He looks so cute in it as well and he does seem happier in this one then the last cone. He did scratch off some of the strap fabric but it's still holding on, will just get another one considering it's cheap.
